That's the implication of a fairly surprising (in that it is both fair, and, can be read as surprising only if you haven't been following Edwards for a while ) New York Times story. It's getting traction: it was the top story on Memeorandum all morning. And the AP, suspciously, seemed to have the same story at the same time. When that happens, you can usually bet your sweet sammy that another campaign seeded the idea with the reporters.
