Another Resignation From Team Thompson

25 Jul 2007 10:33 am

The day after his would-be campaign manager was replaced, Ex-Sen. Fred Thompson has another senior staff position to refill.

J.T. Mastranadi was hired just a week and a half ago to be the campaign's director of research. He resigned this morning, a friend of his said. The friend said that Mastranadi was "fed up" with the "lack of structure" and was unclear about his role in the coming campaign.

Thompson's spokesperson, Linda Rozett, confirmed that Mastranadi submitted his resignation this morning. "He did it for personal reasons," she said.

Mastranadi was a former NRSC research director and is considered one of the best investigators in the business. Most recently, he worked with Thompson friend David Bossie on an anti-Hillary Clinton documentary.

Rozett dismissed the significance of the second resignation in two days.

"Everything is on track," Rozett said. "Friends of Fred Thompson continues to add people."

Thomson's campaign is in deep trouble for many reasons. Its run by a his trophy wife, Jeri, who is four years younger than Thomson's own daughter!

The other problem is Thomson is a lazy guy and has no platform. He has been a foreign and domestic lobbyist almost all his life. No wonder his first campaign manager, Collamore, is a tobacco lobbyist and now the new manager, Abraham, is a Big Oil lobbyist!

The only platform Thomson can run on is, I have earned millions as lobbyist for years and based on that I can fix America's problems. And also vote for me because I have a young trophy wife!

LOL...keep digging, your burial is imminent.
Don't panic liberals, it will be over soon ;)

Tim: don't forget that Thompson, as head of the 'Save Scooter', is basically picking up the mantle of the Cheney corruption candidate.

Thomson or Romney = Bush-Cheney version 2.0

or

Thomson or Romney = Bush-Cheney's 3rd term

probably only McCain can save it for gop.

Also, FirstRead is reporting that Thomson's fundraising has also slowed down quite a bit. Instead of 5 mills as claimed earlier he may end up raising only 3 mills. The ship is already sinking even before sailing!!

One can tell when the Morlocks are in a frenzy and who they fear most. Thompson offers a clear choice which is what the dhimmierats fear, the comparison and contrast between a man and pre op trans sexuals.

I'm confused. Why is Thomas Jackson talking about Ann Coulter?

Who helped make the job's for Team Thompson possible? Who sleeps with the boss. Who really knows Fred? So is it any surprise she is in charge of gettig things ready?

Of course she micro-manages and does things that irritate. Goes with the territory. Gossip and leaking are the Team's biggest problem. Either go along to get along or don't let the door hit you in the ass on the way out.

Thanks for your comments. And good point, Don. It's not clear why folks are surprised that Jeri is running the show. Her judgment is another matter...

Recently I read an excellent article on the leadership styles of all of the top running candidates from both sides. The premise of the article was that how they run their campaign is a great look at how they will run the country.
So...... should we be expecting that a vote for Fred is really a vote for Mrs. Fred? Is she pushing him into the race? Do we really want a reluctant President in the White House? Another strike against Fred.

Not so great on abortion
No real leadership experience
Too emboiled in Washington ways
Takes too long to make a decision
Still deciding on his position on issues.
Low fund raising capability.

I am not voting for Fred.

How can Senator McCain-Feingold help us?

The left's ability to gossip like gaggles of pre-teen girls never ceases to amaze me. The immaturity of some of the "adults" commenting on this post is a clear indication of why liberals are so bad for the country. Such a shame that the rhetoric has dropped to such a low level, and liberals should be (but never will be) ashamed. We've got political differences, and they should be debated. Instead, they fling insults and giggle at innuendo and meaningless jokes.

Kudos. Way to set an example for the next generation of adults.

TM & Roark-

In 2004 after "the scream," I knew Dean was done. I also thought Kerry had the potential to be a formidable opponent to the unpopular Bush. As a result I went to many a lib website and criticized Kerry, suggesting Dean was still the best option. (I was new to politics & didn't realize the tactic was ridiculous & ineffective.)

This elementary tactic is re-used by inexperienced minds every day. The Dem posts frequently discount Fred & Mitt because they fear them. McCain? Comically bad option in the primaries & horribly unelectable nationally. Rudy? Dems know he will inevitably lose the primary, so they aren't worried about him, even though he's quite electable nationally. I think Mitt is much more electable nationally than Fred, but the Dems clearly fear both. Hence the dual criticism.

The rabbis said "Make your words always soft and sweet, for someday you may have to eat them."

That goes for YOU, and YOU and YOU!
