More On McCain Campaign Decimation: UPDATE

10 Jul 2007 11:22 am

One Republican directly connected to today's events said that Mark Salter, McCain's long-time chief of staff and co-author of his five books, had also left the campaign payroll.

But Salter will remain as an adviser.

"Outside of my family, on this planet, there is no one more important to me than John McCain," he said in a brief interview. "I will continue to help in any way I can."

They are just three of thousand that have split from McCain. Sen. McCain should retire and collect his checks. He doesn't have a chance of winning the election.

Many of us told Senator McCain that if he continued trying to ram amnesty down the throats of the American people, he would lose their support, just as President Bush has lost the respect and support of many Americans. This is a case of the "chickens coming home to roost". The Republican presidential candidates should take note.

Johnny, now you can go ahead and do something admirable...like resigning so we can get someone to support the republican cause.

Johnny, now you can go ahead and do something admirable...like resigning so we can get someone to support the republican cause.

One too many f-bombs?

Doesn't this pretty much have to be the end of the rodeo for McCain? How do you lose the three architects and keep going?

Dozens of former McCain Staffers are no doubt saying "It's about Time!"

I am saddened to hear that Sen. McCain's campaign has hit bottom with such force. He is scheduled to come here to Delaware on July 12th for a large fundraiser. I worked on his campaign in 2000 when Delaware was entrenched in the George Bush campaign. It was the most awe-inspiring time of my life. A true grass roots campaign run with no money - only word of mouth, a few signs, some small fundraisers and a band of believers. It breaks my heart that we haven't even hit the primary and Sen. McCain is in a dreadful situation. I had hoped he would have come out on top early on -- however, it would seem this time out we haven't even gotten a half-hearted try. He would have made a great president. I will still support him until he officially drops out. He is my hero -- and God knows, America needs a HERO right about NOW!

He was McCain's chief of staff in his Senate office. If the sources are correct, I guess he won't be heading back there.

Looks like the Straight Talk Express has been peranently derailed, at any rate.

Re: Your presidential bid

Dear Sir,

I would have liked to vote for you, but will not
due to your immigration alliance with Mr. Kennedy.

Best of luck.

John McCain is a hothead, as he proved back in 1999 when he was being interviewed on the Michael Reagan show. He totally lost it when Reagan pressed him on some issue. I'm sure that because McCain is again proving to be a loser in his maniacal pursuit of the presidency, he blew up at these people. Being talented people, they just said "screw you" John McCain, and left. John McCain needs to give it a rest. He is a patriot, yes, but he is a real political lightweight. He teamed with Stalinists in his support of campaign finance reform, which proved that he cares nothing about our freedom of political speech.

I am happy and pleased to see McCain bite the dust. His stance on Illegal immigration was IGNORANT when 70%+ of LEGAL U.S. Citizens with the loudest voice this or any other Senate has heard before saying NO AMNESTY ENFORCE our laws that are ALREADY on the books this Country doesn't need fools such as McCain and that clueless wonder George Bush, nor do we need the Clueless Clinton's back in office. I WAS a Republican for 32 years and am now an independent. The Rulers of the Republican party who keep drinking the BUSH cool aid have killed the Republican party and tried to give away our country. Next they will want the fairness bill and what comes after that fairness in blogging, these Politicians are supposed to OUR representatives the only thing they represent is MEXICO and their pocket book. 60% of the congress are nothing but sell out RAT BASTARDS

The funny thing is that I could have voted for McCain for President if, after George Bush absolutely trashed him in 2000, he had not become Bush's waterboy on Iraq. Now, the country is rejecting Bush, and McCain's kiss-Bush's-butt strategy is blowing up in his face, and the rat's can't seem to leave the ship fast enough. Good. He deserves it for his blind support of the absolute worst President and most incompetent administration we have ever had.

Most voters have been aware of John Mc Cains defection to the left for many years and have tolerated his RINO status until now, his firm stand on illegal immigration was the last straw for most of the G.O.P. base .He will be lucky to win re-election in arizona, his home state.
He appears desperate and desperation makes for a poor and dangerous polical base to build on .Fool me once shame on you ,fool me twice shame on me.

Morning,

The move to restructure may become an advantage for Sen. McCain. This could be a move away from having campaign leadership that is close to President Bush stepping down and putting back in place leadership that energized the campaign in 2000. I have a lot of faith in Rick Davis and Mark Salter, et al.

Sen. McCain continues, even with the temporary set back, to be the leader for America during this critical time in our History.

Jimmy

McCain, Clinton, Rudy, Obama, it does not matter. Unfortunately it took segregationist Governor Wallace to reveal the truth that "there's not a dime's worth of difference between" Republicans and Democrats. The Democrats willingly went along with the War in Iraq, suspension of Habeas Corpus, detaining protesters, banning books like "America Deceived' from Amazon, stealing private lands (Kelo decision), warrant-less wiretapping and refusing to investigate 9/11 properly. They are both guilty of treason.
Support Dr. Ron Paul and reverse these trends.
Last link (before Stark County District Library bends to gov't Will and drops the title):
America Deceived (book)

At least have the courage to switch to the Democratic Party. Kennedy-McCain says it all. Was that you and Teddy at that 24 hour liquor store in Hyannisport, right after the cloture vote on amnesty?

John McCain is an honorable man and a true American hero. Please be respectful in your remarks.

Salter will continue on, but won't receive a paycheck. Nelson took the hit for overspending. Weaver was dead weight. Davis and Gullet are smart enough and experienced enough to pull this through to the end. McCain will win -- too bad for Hillary.

McCain went a bridge too far when he became Johnny one note on the immigration amensty issue. Hopefully, others who chose to ignore the will of the American people will learn a lesson as well. Many of us can forgive a lot, but can't and won't forget those who try to sell out our country. Just a thought. HB

McCain should have been running for the Democratic nomination. He's not a republican. Real republicans aren't warmongers, they don't support big government, and they don't write laws to stomp out grassroots campaigns, like McCain-Feingold. We need a republican who supports strong borders, limited government, and the free market. I hope that McCain's supporters will learn about Ron Paul once McCain drops out, and maybe even throw their support behind Dr. Paul's rapidly growing campaign.

I salute Senator McCain for his service and the pain he endured on behalf of this country. But his imprisonment in Vietnam evidently taught him nothing about the folly of waging war on behalf of ignorant idealism, or just plain American-style imperialism. McCain carried water for George Bush on this insane war, and that water finally washed away his ill-conceived campaign.

Hola Juan McCain! Mi casa es su casa.
Do I mean it? No. Now go retire to nice sunny Juarez.

What principle did you stand on when you went against the American people to uphold open borders John?

Now sir, we have your answer.

Senator Bob Bennett of Utah is another illegal alien loving traitor. Bennett's not running for president but he needs to be put out to pasture too! Arlen Spector and Orrin Hatch's Dream Act needs to be defeated. Orrin Hatch's voted right only once. But he and Spector are the creators of Dream Act.

I predicted six months ago on the Mike Gallagher radio show that John McCain would not make it through the South Carolina primary election, figuring he would either withdraw beforehand because of declining polling numbers to avoid the embarrassment, or else he would get trounced by the other candidates on election day. It looks like one of those two things is still likely to happen. I, as a strong conservative retired military officer and Vietnam veteran, was prepared (and still am) to work against Sentator McCain becoming the Republican Party nominee for President in 2008 because he would go down in flames to the Democrat, I am convinced.

Opponents of the immigration bill xenophobic and racist? Actually, the opposite is true:
1. The new law sustains a sub-class of underpaid, under educated.
2. This sub-class of illegals essentially works for slave-wages; and, as argued by Southerners before the Civil War, "It is necessary for our economy."
4. The laws proponents, unwittingly (or not), ask us to promote the existence of this subclass by not enforcing current immigration law and not maintaining boarder integrity.
5. Politicians favoring these policies insult voter intelligence by feigning concern for these workers.
6. These policies enable Latin American countries to avoid the economic consequences of their corruption and socialist policies. Consequently, we prolong economic deprivation and delay attainment of full human rights for citizens of these countries.
7. Those who support this policy historically are of the same mind as Civil War Democrats.

It's about time McCain realizes that he is out of touch with average America just like all the rest of the deadbeat politicians. The Democrat
and Republican parties are nothing but puppets
for wealthy corporations and special interests.

McCain has several problems - none of which were resolved.

1. Wasn't conservative enough on key issues. Being strong on national defense doesn't make up for campaign finance reform and immigration.

2. He was branded an "outsider" in his first run. Now he is seen as the "establishment" candidate for the Republican party. That doesn't play well since we need change.

3. His age and performance. McCain looks very tired and his aging appears to be accelerating. There's a lot to be said for one's physical appearance in running for the presidency (just ask John Edwards and his $1400 hair cuts) and for McCain that is not a strong point. America needs someone younger and more vibrant.

Two words: NO AMNESTY

McCain has never been anything, but a RHINO. He's always introduced as being tortured while a captive, when on TV. When other than being crippled and in severe pain from broken limbs from his air-craft being shot down, he was treated like a guess while in Hanoi prison. No one did/or does harm to the Admiral's son.

No, he'll never correct anyone that introduces him on TV as a tortured prisoner, but just nodds his head and begans his BullSh*t.

We need this guy, like we need another war.

McCain-Feingold, Mexican amnesty, Arizona we want no parts of your senators McCain or Kyl.

John McCain has withstood and overcome much greater challenges. He'll be there at the finish and all of the other helmet holders will have faded into the footnotes.

http://hickeysite.blogspot.com/2007/07/mccain-tree-county.html

McCain was weak even before he tried to sell out all the citizens for Mexico and special interests. He is scum.

God will is being done. Get the troops home from Iraq, is also Gods will.

For all of you who thing there is no God, are you going to be surprised. Even jesus Christ.

McCain, the great campaign finance reformer!

McCain had a hand in the 1980s Savings and Loan Association failures.

He and 4 other Senators took campaign money from Carles Keating in the 1980s.
In return, the these 5 Senators helped Keating's Lincoln Savings avoid Government oversight.
Ultimately the Lincoln Savings did collapse, leaving the taxpayers with 500 million dollars bailout.

McCain, the senator of Arizona...
Comes up with his idea of comprehensive immigration reform.
Don't even remember the last time he visited our border....
He is one of America's great pretenders!
Why doesn't someone ask him how a border senator can get by on tough illegal immigration issues when he NEVER sees the problems!

I salute John McCain for his military service to this country, but I have never thought he was a good politician. His temper is out of control, and he has been arrogant to the point of beingun approachable to the voting public. He is a typical DC policitian. Of course, that describes a loarge percentage of the politicians in DC. For the first time in may years, I am receptive to hearing polticians from any party, including indies, who want to become the president of the US. I'm not limiting myself to o ne party anymore. I'm sick and tired of our politicians from both arties pandering to minorties an paying scant attention to the majority of voters in this country. It's time to fish or cut bait.

This is the first indication that John McCain's political career is self destructing over his support of the Mexican invasion of: illiterates, drug dealers, welfare queens, islamic terrorists, cubans and other parasites seeking to bleed America's welfare system, social security retirement, medicare and medicade systems. And don't forget; there is no out of state college tuition for illegals. Mccain, Kennedy, and cohorts should polish up their resumes, they will soon be in the unemployment line. Perhaps they can join the people smugglers of mexico or go to work for the Mexican Upper classes who are ducking their social welfare responsibility and sending their misfits north to jump on the backs of the American Taxpayer.

McCain's unRepublican positions were bad enough, but it was his in-your-face attitude that really soured people emotionally on the guy.

Senator and staff, please read my book The Howard Dean Diary. This book has a lot of information that you could use in the campaign. You can order it on the internet from Amazon, Borders,
The money that Obama has, is a serious concern. Too off set this advantage you could make a TV ad That includes several people running for statewide office as Republicans. You are in a group of them and say to the camera, "You know these folks. They teach your children, go to your church, live down the street, your kids play on the same team. You know them as good people and they are now running for office as Republicans. I'm asking you to support their effort. I can't do everything by myself and I could use their help. The problems we face today are not just national problems. Some of these problems can and must be dealt with locally, right here in -------. These are the people you and I both need to do that job. I'm asking that you vote for them in the upcoming November election. Oh yes. and I also could use your support."
Then the group says, "We approve this message."
