Other reviews:

It was Hillary's night. (Jennifer Rubin)

"While the dominant dynamic of the night was between Clinton and Obama, it was former Sen. John Edwards (N.C.) who seemed the boldest of the three in his call for bold action. (Chris Cillizza)

" Senator Clinton continued her weak and defeatist rhetoric on the War on Terror, Senator Obama continued to flail about with his advocacy for sex education for kindergartners, and the rest of the supporting cast were falling over each other to either raise taxes, spend more money or gain favor with special interests and the status quo running Washington, D.C." (Mitt Romney)

"

"The leading Democratic candidates have had three debate opportunities to utter the name of our nation's biggest enemy but have refused. America needs a leader who can not only say the words 'Islamic terrorists' but can also stand up to them. Tonight, voters shouldn't be surprised if the leading Democratic candidates once again refuse to acknowledge that Islamic terrorism is at the root of the Terrorists' War on Us." (The Giuliani campaign)

"Obama:" -- The Drudge Poll

"Score one for Edwards" (Chuck Todd)

And the comments by the Romney and Giuliani campaigns show the essence of why I would never ever support those candidates.

Hillary is clearly the best and the brightest. It was Snow White and the 7 dwarfs. Her answers about meeting with foreign leaders, why she is a progressive and the withdrawal of troops from Iraq showed her nuanced response to the answers. This is Hillary`s moment and she is seizing it. And for a woman not known for her looks she is a great advertisement for women growing older.

"Answers about meeting with foreign leaders, why she is a progressive and the withdrawal of troops from Iraq showed her nuanced response to the answers."

(1) she spun and stalled and didn't answer the question, only yammered about meeting with advisers and evaluating the current position yada yada yada.

(2) she ran away from the word liberal so fast you would have thought it was an IED.

(3) again, noncommittal.

If that's what you like, a triangulating noncommittal spin artist, then by all means, you've got your candidate.

But please, tell me one thing she's done where the success of the venture was in her hands alone. One thing?

John Edwards has hundreds if not thousands of times had the entire success of a venture in his hands. They're called lawsuits, clients. And the pressure of having a sick 8 year old's future entirely in your hands is a pretty good proving ground for acting under pressure.

How's that big healthcare plan we passed in 1993?
