Stoneyfield Farms Yogurt Guru Endorses Obama

09 Jul 2007 01:01 pm

Everyone stops at Stonyfield Farm Yogurt of Londonderry, NH. Run by Gary and Meg Hirshberg, it's the largest organic yogurt concern in the U.S. The Hirsbergs are also major Democratic donors, and theyv'e just endorsed Sen. Barack Obama:

“America is badly divided and in desperate need of new solutions, new ideas, and a new way of conducting politics,” Gary Hirshberg said. “Barack Obama is the candidate who can best help Americans focus on our common strengths and dreams, rather than our differences. We must move forward into the 21st Century and not back to old divisions and Barack will catalyze the change we need—in our disastrous policies, but also in the way the world sees us, and how we see ourselves. Meg and I are thrilled to get to work for Barack here in NH and across the US.”

The Hirshbergs originally endorsed and raised money for ex-IA Gov. Tom Vilsack.

Hillary is leading Obama by a wide margin in New Hampshire. Therefore the Hirsbergs do not represent the view of mainstream people who live in New Hampshire. And there no evidence that Obama runnning a unity campaign and is above it all. He practices politics as usual bashing Hillary and the GOP regularly.

Polls are not votes- they're abstract and transient. NO ONE has cast a single vote yet.
THE ONLY THING WE'VE HAD SO FAR, THAT'S CLOSE TO A VOTE IS THE FUNDRAISING (number of donors, not amount of money) and Obama is leading it with over 259,000 people. And leading in the money too.

No candidate is half as close. Not even those who've been on the scene for decades. If you want a democratic president in 2008, you should be seriously considering Obama.

Hillary only leads the early polls among registered Democrats. However, Obama leads with the independants and Republicans that can vote in the Democratic primary. A scenario most likely to happen in the 1st primary states, is that Obama will take New Hampshire because of the rules allowing non-Democrat voters to cast votes in the primary and for Obama to take South Carolina for obvious reasons. Hillary's lack electability among crucial swing voters will be an issue and the rest of the country will follow suite in electing someone else for the Democratic nomination. Remember, this is a candidate with high disapproval ratings. After George W. Bush, the country wants to move away from polarizing politicians.
