A Major Industrial Union Endorses Hillary Clinton

30 Aug 2007 11:09 am

The campaign, in a press release:

The Clinton Campaign today announced the endorsement of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers. The IAM is among the nation’s largest industrial trade unions, representing over 700,000 active and retired members in airline, aerospace, manufacturing, railroad, woodworking and shipbuilding industries, and is a member of the AFL-CIO.

“Hillary Clinton earned the IAM’s endorsement by focusing on jobs, health care, education and trade – the bread and butter issues of the American middle class,” said IAM International President Tom Buffenbarger. “She is the only candidate of either party to come forward with a comprehensive manufacturing policy and the only candidate to connect with millions of Americans who feel invisible to the current administration.”

When I figure out what this means, I'll write more.

"When I figure out what this means, I'll write more."

It means Hillary is the candidate of inevitability, which is why she's going to rack up more than her fair share of Democratic officeholders, unions, and interest groups.

And the fact that she's the candidate of inevitability is why she'd better not pooch Iowa. Inevitability is a weak campaign theme if you start losing elections.

Nothing like watching a union's leadrship ignore its members.

What has this guy been smoking? Hillary is focused on jobs? healthcare? education? trade? Well yes, focused on trade, if you mean focused on failed trade policies and bankrupt economic policies. Jobs? Yes, more jobs for Chinese workers. A comprehensive manufacturing policy? That would be cool, but I haven't seen it. Why hasn't anybody reported on it?
Hillary has NO healthcare plan at all. She says she won't even get into it until her second term.

Just when I thought unions were making a comeback, their leadersheep makes a bonehead move like this.

Say no to the status quo. Cut to the revolution.

Good, finally some good has come Hillary's way.
