Key lines:

"The road through to the White House goes through Iowa, and I'm not skipping it, I'm going right through Iowa."

"I had a dream: that the son of a Kansas farmer becomes president of the United States."

"I have never voted for a tax increase and I will certainly never sign one."

"The best place to raise a child is between a mom and a dad bonded together for life."

Biggest applause line: "We should be able to say one nation Under God and the flag salute and not be worried about anybody suing us."

I will not vote for a candidate that supports this never-ending war for Israel in the Middle East. You people are being hoodwinked. No new taxes? Who cares if inflation goes wild which it will as Congress spends more money it doesn't have.

Did Duncan Hunter not speak?

I see an islamic terrorist posing as an "Alex" type white guy above. Why shouldn't we spen d even our last dollar to save Israel from destruction by Satan's minions in the Middle East? We'll go as far as the end of the world, Islam will never win and Satan will not have his paradise.

Brownback is the only candidate who can carry the US into its proper as national superiority is finally recognized as God's providence and that freedom is the only end. Free to love God, free to reject God, free to be from harm of others. Islam fails in each of these because Islam does not know God.

Thompson has my vote and primarily because he won't cut and run in Iraq, allowing the front line in the war on terror to return to our soil.
I notice the liberals are very quick to discount the threat, but frankly they can gamble with their own skin elsewhere.

On all other issues that I know of, Fred Thompson is clearly the man for the job!

Sam Brownback is just what this country needs. Faith through family is core. Family as recognized vis-a-vis the inherent man, woman, married relationship.

This nation cannot endure the destructive power of gay activists, criminal inhabitants (illegal immigrants), islamic fundamentalism, over-reaching governement, special interest groups, media bias, racism, failure to address internation crisis (Darfur), nor world trade with oppressive governements.

We must act. We must be bold. We must be loud and dominant. We must provide freedom first for our citizens. Freedom to live in charity. Charity that comes through the heart, not through taxes. We must build a border fence. Then, we must empower Mexicans to do for themselves in their own homeland, not in ours. Must must have an english only institution. We must be constantly coaching and teaching our neighbors south of the border to improve their quality of life. We must not allow illegals immigrants to act as "strike breakers".

Mark demonstrates the simple-mindedness of the supporters of Neocons. He actually conjures up images of LINES - what is this - 1914?

If Bush cared about the so called war on terror, the borders would have been CLOSED on 9/12! Absolutely no excuse for not doing that....unless you are actually HOPING for more attacks to use as an excuse for destroying more civil liberties. We were attacked by immigrants on 9/11, not a foreign country. Kick all the foreigners out, stop ALL immigration. We don't need it and can't afford it even without the threat of terrorism and certainly not with it.

SaveLives - "Faith" is needed? Half of what you say is correct, but the other half is absurd. Check the debt lately? We can't afford to be "bold." We need to leave everyone alone and fix the most fundamental problem of this country - our decaying culture (which can be revived if we STOP the flood of IMMIGRATION set by the 1965 immigration act), our decaying infrastructure (need I cite a particular bridge?), our decaying DOLLAR (stop this international trade BS), our over-extended entitlement programs, our failed educational system (again, stopping immigration would help that), etc.... We have a lot to do and we don't need another CFR sell out to further erode this country's sovereignty.

IT IS WAY TOO EARLY FOR MOST PEOPLE TO EVEN CARE ABOUT ALL THIS STUFF. WHO CARES ABOUT WHAT ANYONE SAYS MORE THAN A YEAR BEFORE THE ELECTION. BETTER YET WHO CARES WHAT ANYONE SAYS A YEAR BEFORE THE EJECTION. FRED THOMPSON IS SMART AND NOT GETTING INVOLVED WITH ALL THIS BALONEY. NEXT YEAR EVERONE WILL BE SO TIRED OF THEIR COMMENTS WHICH WILL BE WORN OUT BY THEN AND CERTAINLY CHANGE BY NEXT YEAR. THEN FRED THOMPSON WILL SOUND LIKE A BREATH OF FRESH AIR. THE REST OF THESE CREEPS WILL SOUND LIKE VERY OLD RECORDS.

A LOT OF OTHER THINGS MAY CHANGE DRAMATICALLY, LIKE BUSH WINS THE WAR OR BY THEN WE ARE IN A SERIOUS WA WITH IRAN.

DONT'T FORGET 16,500 MURDERS WERE COMMITTED IN 2005, (1 YEAR) WE HAVE LOST LESS THAN 3,500 TROOPS DURING THE ENTIRE WAR IN WHAT 4 YEARS. RUN THE NUMBERS FOR POPULATION. WE LOOSE ABOUT THAT MANY SOLDIERS PER YEAR IN PEACE TIME. LOOK AT THE DATA MORE U.S. TROOPS WERE LOST DURING THE CLINTON ADMINISTRATION IN TRAINING EXERCISES AND VERY LIMITED CONFLICT,THAN HAVE BEEN LOST IN COMBAT BY BUSH, MANY OF THOSE WERE ACCIDENTS ALSO. LETS'S GET REAL ABOUT BRINGING THE TROOPS HOME, THEY ARE FLAT CRAZY. ACTUALLY THE TROOPS ARE SAFER IN IRAQ!!!!!!!!

Alex, don't you understand? If we don't invade countries that didn't attack us, well then the Al Qaida army will send it's army and navy over here and conquer Washington D.C.!!

And don't say "well, we shouldn't let them into the country". Don't you understand that the Statue of Liberty, which was signed by all out founding fathers, dictates that any one in the world be allowed to enter our country, no questions asked?

How can you not understand this. In order to prevent another 9-11 we need to allow Muslims to immigrate here while we simultaneosuly murder Muslims in their home countries.

Except me, of course. I can't fight this war in Iraq because I gotta be at work on Monday.

Geez, some people just don't get it.

Chris - well played. ;-)

Yeah, let's invade and antagonize a billion people while allowing the very "terrorists" we are supposedly targetting (nevermind that those terrorists weren't in IRAQ) to walk right in to our country...or better yet allow them in our universities (paying in-state rates) so they can learn to build better bombs to kill us with. Can't argue with that.

Yeah, it is funny how simplistic some people's understanding of immigration is - they love to cite a poem written by a socialist Jew inscribed at the base of the Statue of Liberty as if it was part of the Constitution! Further, these waves of 3rd worlders weren't allowed in before the 1965 immigration act - hardly a founding principle of the country.

What's really scarry is that anyone who would disagree with what I said would be labled loony, ignorant, and naive by the Corporate Media.

You can always count on the masses to drink the Kool Aid when it comes to war propoganda.

I am sure the persecuted majority is thrilled that someone is standing up for their right to recite the Pledge of Allegiance in public without being viciously attacked. I remember seeing the pictures of those dogs and fire hoses being let loose on the people who last tried it.

I am just glad these Republicans candidates don't pander to the fruitcake and nut crowds.

Oh. My. God.

The vast majority of the folks posting here are clearly stark raving mad. I guess that's the Republican primary audience, though.

Keep showing your colors, people, we need America at large to realize what complete and utter nutcases you are.

Close the borders! Invade everybody! Lower taxes! Increase military spending! Enforce biblical law! Death to the non Christian white male!!!

Sheesh.

I like Brownback because he stands up for Jesus.

Brownback gets the war on terror. America exists so that it can protect the Jews in Israel from the Satanic moon-worshiping hordes. Our holy warriors in the American military are doing God's work in Iraq.

Beownback is not like the cross-dresser that takes his orders from the pope, or like flip-flop Mitt who wears them funny underpants and baptizes dead people.

"The best place to raise a child is between a mom and a dad bonded together for life."

I love this line. It makes think of a man and woman sewn together, face to face. And there's this kid that's flat as a pancake stuck between them with his arms and legs dangling out. Truly the best place to raise a child.

Of course, when I said "Be bold" I wasn't talking about our government. I was talking about being active in getting our man elected. Democrats do a pretty good job of drowning out the republican voice because we don't say "yes!" to every little interest that crosses the desk and pander to whomever is standing in front of us at that particular moment.

Just to be clear - I wasn't talking about bum-rushing some unsuspecting country and taking out a massive trillion dollar debt to do it. Of course, I say "screw China". Thanks for the loan, see ya later, but only if they continue to threaten the stability of the American Dollar.

I prefer a back to basic approach. Pull out of as many countries as possible (naturally that doesn't mean all or even most, just whatever is possible), leaving only diplomats and whatever is needed to protect them. Rebuild our infrastructure, physically, politically, socially, morally. Sometimes, like any good artist, you gotta take a step back, pick up a different brush, and use a different view of your canvas. Then shape your view as you desire it to be. When the lines are clear, more people will understand what you are trying to communicate and will embrace your perception.

AiG4Life:

Brownback is Catholic. Unless he's just pretending to be Catholic.

"Democrats do a pretty good job of drowning out the republican voice because we don't say "yes!" to every little interest that crosses the desk and pander to whomever is standing in front of us at that particular moment."

Wow. Where have you been the last 7 years dearie, when Bush and his GOP allies have gotten just about every freaking thing they asked for from the war to tax cuts to pillaging the consitution? The reason the country is so f***ed up right now is that no one had the balls to stand up to president dumb-as-dirt and his minions of morons and actually try to pursue constructive governmental policies. From your comments, it's clear that you're one of the bozos who cheerled the adinistration the entire way as they got us into this mess. Why don't you just sit down and shut up for a few years and let the adults try to fix things, eh?

Brownback put all his time and resources into accomplishing the rather modest goal of finishing second in a straw poll in which two of the major candidates were not even participating- and he failed. He is a loser and his campaign is a joke.

"Close the borders! Invade everybody! Lower taxes! Increase military spending! Enforce biblical law! Death to the non Christian white male!!!"

I hope you're kidding, justinb. We need to kill all non-Christians of any color, and their females too!!! As a Godly Nation, we also need to stone anyone who eats shellfish. Those satanic liberals are responsible for there being Red Lobsters from coast to coast, and it's time we took the Nation back in God's name. The good Senator Brownback has nearly rid Kansas of them, and he can do the same for all of America, Prasie Jesus.

The only hope that this country has of not turning into the old Soviet Union is RON PAUL.

as the comments here have, i think, shown pretty effectively, This country has no hope.

We certainly don't need a president who worries about something as inconsequential as Americans suing over a phrase in the Pledge of Allegiance.

Dear Senator Brownback,

If you are truly pro life you must now bow out of the race for president. The recent Ames straw poll clearly shows two things:

1) The conservative, Christian, pro-life vote does not support Romney. Combined, your support and Governor Huckabee's support in the poll was greater than Romney's. The voters have spoken. It is time for the pro-life vote to coalece behind the one candidate who can carry the pro-life message effectively forward.

2) Continuing your campaign will only continue to divide the conservative, Christian, pro-life constituency and will only contiue to prop up Mitt Romney's false status as a "front-runner." You know that Romney is not truly pro-life and that his candidacy is a danger to the very principles you stand so admirably for.

Rich Lowry of National Review Online agrees, saying that continuing your campaign in the wake of the straw poll "might end up hurting the pro-life cause."

According to Lowry, continuing your campaign hurts the man pro-life voters want and, "in practical terms for pro-lifers, [your] campaign is balanced somewhere between pointless and counter-productive."

And, devastatingly, Lowry goes further: "the truth is that the Brownback presidential campaign is doing the senator’s moral cause no favors. If anything... his cause is being hurt by the association."

Senator, you are a great man and respected leader whom I admire tremendously. It is time for you to demonstrate that leadership and your committment to protecting the unborn by making a very unselfish decison --- you must continue the important work of promoting the cause of protecting and honoring the dignity of all human lives — in the U.S. Senate.

Senator, please. Choose life.
