We've got a new design, and a letter of introduction from editor James Bennet, who describes our "living op-ed" page, and lots of new features planned.
I cannot imagine a better team of fellows (both genders): James Fallows, Andrew Sullivan, Ross Douthat, Matthew Yglesias, and very shortly, Megan McArdle.

One note about the new banner. The header graphic reading "The Atlantic.com" is not designed with a gradient, while the blue background bar clearly is. I'd wager that was not intentional. I'm viewing this on a Mac monitor, which is naturally brighter than it PC counterpart, so this discrepancy may be less apparent to some. But to not cross-test platforms is, forgive me, rather hackish of the Atlantic design team.
