How representative is the Kos readership of the Netroots? Are Kos straw poll voters representative of Kos's readership?

"Are Kos straw poll voters representative of Kos's readership?" Considering that he only ran the straw poll for one hour today, to avoid the various camps mobilizing to stuff the ballot box, I'd say that today's results are indeed representative of his readership. ------ "How representative is the Kos readership of the Netroots?" I think Kos's readership, and thus the straw poll results, is representative of high-information, politically active Democrats everywhere. Throughout 2007, if you conduct a straw poll among high-information, politically active Democrats in any venue, Edwards tends to win. It doesn't matter if the straw poll is online, or at some Democratic state convention or other grouping. If you're an active enough Democrat to have a real preference for the primaries in 2007, on the average you support Edwards.
"I think Kos's readership, and thus the straw poll results, is representative of high-information, politically active Democrats everywhere." To be precise, the above only applies outside of the Beltway...
Kos ahtes Hillary, so no surprise that Edwards wins again. It's basically worthless. http://www.political-buzz.com/
It reflects GOTV usually and Edwards supporters have a highly organized presence on kos. So much so that a lot of people have grown bored and gone elsewhere.
"and Edwards supporters have a highly organized presence on kos." But again, the poll this month was only kept open for one hour precisely to insulate it from organized efforts.
How many emails or IMs can be sent in an hour? GOTV for online polling takes no time - a minute maybe once it's already set up to go. I imagine, though, the site managers can tell if the 6000 people who voted were on site when the poll went up or arrived soon after.
"How many emails or IMs can be sent in an hour?" Of course, since no one realized that the poll was going to close an hour after opening, no one was likely in a rush to go vote or organize so quickly. If folks had know the poll was going to be an hour-long affair, it would have be more gameable. But since they didn't, I think you got a pretty fair snapshot of dKos readers this month.
No. about 5 or so months ago the biggest blogs decided to drive out supporters of candidates other than Edwards.
Edwards has been winning the straw polls hands down consistently for ages - regardless of whether Kos posts them or other users. And most Kos readers I know in person favor Edwards. I've never seen any evidence that the consistent overwhelming Edwards support means anything more than that Kos readers overwhelmingly support him.
Petey's got it. Wherever savvy highinfo Dems--those who care both about position and winning weigh in--Edwards does well, whether it's Iowa, the California Executive Board Meeting, the Democratic Party convention in Wisconsin, MoveOn straw polls, the Texas e-primary...
Meh. The Edwards supporters on Kos seem to think that winning the straw polls and having alot of diaries on the rec list actually means their candidate is beating everyone else. Boy, are they ever in for a rude awakening. Especially after the 3rd Q fund raising totals come out. I'm betting that Richardson will beat him this time. That is, unless Ann Coulter says something mean again.
Funny how many in Daily Kos are supporting the biggest phony in the race. Daily Kos is so out of touch. A reality base community? I don't think so.

DailyKos has an elite white male readership. In the real world where women and minorities are part of the election process, Clinton and Obama have far greater support.
