Giuliani Speaks To The NRA Cattle Call This Friday

17 Sep 2007 12:00 pm

An NRA spokesman tells me that ex-NYC Mayor Rudy Giuliani, a prominent advocate for gun control when he was mayor of New York City, will be among those presidential candidates who speak to before the NRA's Celebration of American Values convention in Washington Friday.

The NRA members know Giuliani's record well, and many Republicans believe that Giuliani's past support for tough gun laws will prove deadly.

But Giuliani is signing a different tune these days.

Also attending:

Sen. Fred Thompson, Sen. John McCain and Gov. Mike Huckabee.

Democrat Bill Richardson will speak to the NRA via videotape, along with Rep. Duncan Hunter and Gov. Mitt Romney.

Giuliani is another fake republican who will flipflop to get elected. Politicians without principles can never be good leaders.

Mike Huckabee was the first governor to have a license to carry a concealed weapon. He believes whole-heartedly in the right to bear arms, and realizes that it was included in the Constitution NOT to keep us free to hunt, but FREE!

mc cain and guliani are not second amendment guys. everyone knows about guliani but mc cain has come to oregon to campaign to close the supposed gun show loophole. he is no friend of freedom.

Ron Paul is the only candidate on either side that really understands the founding fathers intent, and he is the only candidate who will protect the Constitution. Vote for freedom, not talking points. Vote Ron Paul.

I can't believe the NRA would even allow Giuliani to speak. The GOA is for Ron Paul because of his faithful record on the second amendment and so am I! Giuliani's record is plain and no amount of double speak should absolve him of it. I let my membership in the NRA laps because of thier less than stellar record and I guess I won't be sending them a check any time soon. To bad a great organization is losing it's way.

I am a lifelong Republican and I would never vote for Rudy Giuliani. He is a lifelong democrat that ran for Mayor of New York as a republican because he would never get the democrat nomination. He has supported gun licensing and registration in the past and is just saying what he thinks gun owners want to hear to get elected. Rudy showing up at the NRA meeting is as silly as Hillary showing up in her camo toting her "favorite" shotgun to show she has always been a supporter of the Second Amendment.

Mike Huckabee will likely receive the endorsement of the NRA. He has the strongest history of support for the organization.
