Out Of The Gate, Romney Contrasts With Giuliani

05 Sep 2007 08:55 pm

Asked to reconcile contradictions about Sanctuary Cities -- Massachusetts had several and Romney didn't do a whit about 'em until late in his term -- Romney turned the tables on Rudy Giuliani, portraying him as pro-sanctuary cities and pro-amnesty.

Giuliani:. "I didn't have the luxury of political rhetoric. I had the safety and security of people of New York City on my shoulder."

Whats wrong with Romney? Romney smiled right after the guy (law enforcement official) told Romney that Romney was wrong in saying his five sons working on his campaign is same as serving in Iraq and he and his wife were offended since their son is serving in Iraq at the moment.

Rewind the tapes and check out yourself Romney did smile for a moment before answeing the question. Whats up with that? He clearly looked mean.

Both Rudy and Romney's performances are well below par. Huckabee and McCain are doing great.

Mitt is also laughing when the others are talking. You can clearly hear it in the background.

The question I wanted answered by Mitt was why neither he nor any of his boys have had the courage to serve in our military?

The sad fact is that the rich kids, like the Romney boys, just don't bother to serve anymore. Why? Because, thanks to our globalist economy, there are plenty of poor bastards who need the GI Bill for community college or the basic income of an enlisted salary, so they go and sacrifice themselves so that they can hope to survive and earn a minimal existence in the process.

I don't expect people who think that serving one's country is just an "option" to grasp the gravity of having a system where the poor are sent off to die in our wars while the bizarrely rich, like the Romneys, can sit back in luxury and write books about how rough things were on the Olympic Committee.

It would not be "political opportunism" to have one of the Romney boys serve in the Reserves right now. It would be a thoughtful gesture by perhaps one of Mitt's boys to show that, although his is a wealthy family, they are still patriots and willing to serve in our military. Even a brief stay in our Reserves would also secure a place for whichever son who served, in the hearts and minds of the people. In short, it would pave the way for that son's political future, if he would choose to have one.

In this case, Mitt Romney and sons could learn a lesson from Joe Kennedy and his boys, about setting a good example for the People.

It is increasingly dangerous for the RICH to expect the POOR to continue to fight wars for them. Sooner or later, the POOR will turn on the wealthy class and blame them for the losses that the POOR have suffered. It will be so very easy for some charismatic leader to come along and point to the RICH and say, "See how they protect their sons while sending your's off to be slaughtered?" If we do not correct this terrible imbalance, history teaches that our Republic will likely be destroyed by the inevitable revolt.

If just ONE of the Romney boys had the courage to serve just one tour in our Reserves, it would mean so very much to all of those families whose sons (and daughters) are risking their lives on our country's behalf. For one Romney son to serve, all they would generally have to do is ninety days of officer training school and then just one weekend per month over the time of their contract. Depending on the service that they joined, they might never serve in Iraq, but the gesture would be worth everything to the rest of our men and women in uniform, as well as to their families.

I, for one, pray that at least one of the Romney boys will elect to serve in our military and thereby set the example for other wealthy families, that service to one's country, has and shall always be, a DUTY and not merely an option.

From the "debate" one could hardly pick a clear winner because it was a definite lop-sided debate.
Of course, the highly favored candidates get more questions than those less well rated.
This is a terrible way to be fair to "all" candidates...
I suggest that you have the top rated questions
listed on paper , then go down the line for
"EACH" candidate to answer.....
In my opinion the three top are :
Iraq, Immigration, and Health care......
under Iraq ask 4 different questions,
on Immigration, ask 4 different questions (one being ANCHOR BABIES,which all candidates shun)
under Health Care ask 4 different questions...

It just isnt FAIR to ask only Guliani, Romney, McCain and Ron Paul the majority of questions..
Duncan Hunter is an highly regarded man on fast action and in all of the debates, he is often overlooked...he is an outstandingcandidate...!!!

As to Mitt smiling at an inopportune time: Have you ever at the point of embarrasement smiled? I have. Sometimes there are just a difficult situations that people react differently. I have seen time and again him answer to his "mis-speaking" in that regard and I feel he is sincere. And besides, do you EVER see him NOT smiling? I don't. The man is not a perfect man, along with ALL the other people on that stage. If you nit-pick, everone will be discounted to serve us as president. Look at their abilities, successes, issues they support and experience, not single moment blunders.
