Willard Mitt Obama

21 Sep 2007 04:50 pm

Is the real Mitt Romney finally standing up? Here's a statement he'll publish in key early state newspapers. He'll also send the letter to members of the Republican National Committee.

To my friends and fellow Republicans,

Throughout our country’s long and remarkable journey, there have been “inflection points,” critical moments when political, economic, military and other forces converged to alter the course of our history.

We are at one of those inflection points today.

Forces of globalization, the rise of major new economic powerhouses such as China and India, and the emergence of radical Jihad have created a “perfect storm” that will change the course of our nation. We face unprecedented challenges in securing our borders, protecting the American family, and ending America’s dependence of foreign oil.

Our actions today will determine which course America will take. Will America remain the world’s economic and military superpower, able to preserve peace, progress, and prosperity? Will our children and grandchildren grow up with the same opportunities that have been our birthright for over two centuries? Will our uniquely America culture – a culture of family, patriotism, faith, and freedom – remain our foundation and lead a stronger America into the future?

I believe the American people can rise to these and every other challenge ahead of us. Yet, at this extraordinary moment in our nation’s history, our government is failing us. Washington is busy pointing fingers, assigning blame, and spending too much money. There is too much talk and too little action.

The blame, we must admit, does not belong to just one party. If we’re going to change Washington, Republicans have to put our own house in order.

We can’t be like Democrats – a party of big spending. We can’t pretend our borders are secure from illegal immigration. We can’t have ethical standards that are a punch-line for Jay Leno.

When Republicans act like Democrats, America loses.

It’s time for Republicans to start acting like Republicans. We have to remember who we are: We are not Big Government Republicans. We are not Washington Republicans. We are Change Washington Republicans. Democrats are not the change Washington needs. We are the change Washington needs and it’s time for Republicans like us to stand for that change again.

There is not a single challenge America faces that we can’t overcome with the innovation and passion that has always been at the heart of the American people. If we change Washington, I believe America can achieve anything.

It’s time for change in Washington and that change must begin with us.

Sincerely,

Mitt Romney

Romney isn't afraid to stand up for something and be unpopular for it. The man has backbone.

More than ever, America needs Mitt! He loves America! You can see it in his life style and everything he does. He is qualified beyond in everyway to lead and guide and preserve America and its freedoms! Hopefully there is enough true Americans (I mean those who truly love America, who truly desire her to keep her freedoms and to preserve her constitution)...may we ever be wise and not be deceived by Ms Hillary and the likes of her. VOTE MITT to be the next President of the United States...long live America, may she prosper and be a beaming light to the rest of the world and to her citizens...you and me.

You have my support Mitt. It is about time someone stands up and says it like it is. This country is too good to let it continue on the track it has been on the past 18 years. Bring America together!

Mitt's message is the most heartfelt and inspiring one that I have read from any Republican. It is positively moving to me and I am not easily impressed. This message could be the one that propels him ahead. A message that is stalwart, dedicated, true to the principles of conservatism....it commands attention to the messenger and his ability to save failing endeavors. I think he's THE ONE.

The funniest part was "sincerely".

There is no doubt Mitt is the one to lead us for the next 8 years.

Mitt's been hinting at this for a while now. He had earlier this year said there's been too many deals in Washington for anything to get done. Bush, sadly has a few shortcomings. Time for the intelligence, communication skills, and work ethic that Romney has. I can't wait for him to get his hands on Washington!

Why the snarky title?

If you bothered to spend one hour of your time researching Mitt Romney without looking through the MSM filter, you would see he is very easy to read.

The man means to change Washington. How is this letter contrary to this often stated goal?

Look who is talking about change! Its the same guy who has flipflopped on pretty much evrything is claiming to bring out change!!

Jokers like Mitt come once in a life time. So lets have fun at his expense.

Mitt will defiitely bring change since he simpl blows with the wind. For him every new day is a new flipflop which means change.

If he gets the nom, the party will split along religious lines, just like the constitution party did. But that's okay, at least Mitt will get to rule his own planet someday!

JUST WHAT WE NEED. someone has to point out republicans have sucked!! Lets get back on track!! finally someone says it!

someone better or we are going to get whacked in 08

Romney is the sharpest candidate bar none but we will have too see if he can maintain his early state leads.

Sorry to disappoint you Bjorn, Christains are not so bigotted and stupid as to split over a man who exemplifies what it is to lead a "Christain Life" versus a God Hating democrat.

You'll never go broke betting on the bigotry and stupidity of the american public. But you're right, this time it is working in my favor, because as a true traditional conservative, I WANT the republican party to split. So go Rudy! Go Mitt!!

And honestly, I LIKE mormons, so I regret the "rule a planet" crack. Sorry.. I felt bad about that yesterday.

I dunno about ruling a planet, but we believe the scriptures, being a joint-heir with christ is a pretty serious statement of pauls, and we believe it literally. Look up joint-heir in a dictionary, then look up what christ will inherit as heir.
(i didn't bring religion into this though)
Mitt is a guy who can fix and repair broken organizations. Washington needs the help. Romney has a great track record and you can tell he loves this country. I just don't get that feeling with Hillary. Besides, we need someone who is serious about foreign affairs and terrorism.

If it was the REAL Mitt, he'd just say, "Tell me what to say to win, and I will." Mitt Romney doesn't believe in anything other than the self-promotion of Mitt Romney.
