A New Ad In Iowa For Obama

05 Oct 2007 02:26 pm

"Judgment is what we need...." Barack Obama's latest Iowa ad features retired Air Force Gen. Tony McPeak, a gravelly-voiced combat pilot, who testifies to Obama's superior wisdom in opposing the current Iraq war from the start.

Obama "is our best hope to restore our security and standing in today's world. The old Washington establishment has let us down..,"

Judgement is what we need.

But not from a wishy washy wet behind the ears junior Senator. Obama is in over his head. He is ready to lead a High School Yearbook Club, let alone the free world.

But he has more years in elected office than Hillary Clinton, John Edwards, Mitt Romey, Fred Thompson or Rudy Giuliani.

Is he going for the "smart military" approach? That could anger the lefties...

Look no matter how you break this down, Obama has a point here.

#1. If you were and are still "against" the war, it is hard to trust the judgment of the people who came up with the plan for it, and fought the p.r. war for it, or failed to ask hard questions when they voted for it.
#2. If you were "for" the war but now are "against" it, it is hard to trust the judgment of the people who came up with the plan for this war or voted for this war and now say they know how to end it.
#3. If you were and are still "for" the war, it is hard to be "for" the way it has been prosecuted.
#4. If, you are a contrarian like me, and you were "against" the war and now are "for" it, it is still hard to trust the judgment of the people who said they knew what they were doing back then AND now, realizing their mistake, know what they would do now.

So, yeah, judgment matters, and, no, a lot of the candidates are either lacking in political judgment or in moral courage on this issue.

I trust Obama more than anyone else in this race, period. And =there are so many reasons why. Do your research.

I will vote Barack 08!
