Clinton May Get Her AFSCME Endorsement Next Week

23 Oct 2007 03:52 pm

Newsweek's Howard Fineman reports that Sen. Hillary Clinton is expected to get the formal endorsement of the American Federation of State, County and Municipal employees next week. That's the same union that endorsed Bill Clinton at a key point in 1992.

But the vote of the union's executive committee hasn't happened yet...

It's also the same union that endorsed Howard Dean in '04. Sounds like they are all about bandwagons these days.

Hard to believe any union would endorse someone who still says she was right to grant Bush unilateral power to conduct an optional war against a country that had not attacked us -- who is vague about whether she thinks the constitution allows the president to break the law -- who supported NAFTA -- and who half of Americans say they would not vote for under any circumstances.
