Edwards Raises $7M

Sen. John Edwards raised $7M this quarter and has $12M in the bank, his campaign said this afternoon.

The campaign expects to recieve about $10M in federal matching funds and considers itself to have prospectively banked a total of $22M.

Here's what's odd: last week, Trippi was saying they'd have $9M cash on hand at the end of the quarter.

Was he just that far off on expenditures, or are we going to see a significant Edwards debt number?

It doesn't seem like any of the other candidates are releasing Cash on hand numbers. If Edwards effectively has $22 million it looks like he'll be compettive with Clinton and Obama.

Okay, first off, please...receive is "i" before "e" except after "c". I realize some may not care but my goodness, the children are reading this and they may decide that since The Atlantic spells it that way...

As to the campaign, it is clear that Edwards will limp along until Iowa. He must win there. If he does not, there is no possible way he can compete (financially) after that.
