She's the first presidential candidate to employ ground zero imagery in her ad.
That's all I'll say about it. Watch as it voters in New Hampshire and Iowa will watch it.

http://www.prospect.org/cs/articles?article=the_hillarycare_mythology Now that Hillary Clinton is a candidate for president, the health-reform debacle is again receiving attention, this time as a basis for judging what kind of a president she might be in her own right. The trouble with such judgments, however, is that they are usually rooted in a series of misunderstandings about the Clinton health plan, Hillary's role in the reform effort, and the reasons for its failure. The mythology of "Hillarycare," as the Republicans like to call it, is only partly the result of right-wing misrepresentations of the plan as a "government takeover" and malicious personal attacks on Hillary. The press never got the story right in the first place, and recent biographies and articles about Sen. Clinton have added to the misconceptions.
I don't know how New Hampshire and Iowa will take it, but I find it tasteless.
"She kept standing...."
Edwards ad: "While others are content to merely stand still, John Edwards is moving forward. Forward towards a better, stronger America - where the color of your skin or the money in your pocket does not determine your fate. Where you and I are every bit as important as the wealthiest lobbyists and corporations. Where every American has healthcare. Where America is respected in the world again. Now is not the time to stand still, and look back at what once was. John Edwards - moving forward - tomorrow begins today."
I think using images of rescue workers is quite a bit different from showing the burning buildings and such. The 9/11 rescue workers remain a salient issue here in NYC, especially given all that we know about how many of them are sick today due to the Bush Administration's lies about air quality. I can't imagine, at all, the average Iowa voter seeing this ad and thinking "oh my gosh, she's exploiting 9/11!" However, if the media decides to go with a full-blown push of that particular narrative, who knows.
The add was fine, with one exception: the shot of Hilary with the mask on at Ground Zero. Other than that, it was a statement of her hard work as a Senator on health care, and as a New Yorker, I remember that hard work. That one shot, though...
This is Hillary in drag --- dressed as Giuliani.
Clinton Won't sign Anti-Tortue pledge
The anti-torture pledge, initiated by the American Freedom Campaign -- a group founded by a coalition of civil-liberties groups and liberal activists -- commits the candidates to disavowing some of the controversial tactics employed by the Bush administration. http://blogs.abcnews.com/politicalradar/
I don't think it's tasteless or anything and I see the argument she's trying to make with it...alot of those workers on 9/11 got shafted...but the imagery of her wearing the mask is a really bad call. I saw that and instantly thought of Giuliani.
I think the campiagns should hit back hard. A lot of Americans went without health insurance BECAUSE of Hillary Clinton closing the process and barring the gates to friend and foe alike. The entire health care debacle makes Bush seem reasonable in comparison. Why in the world no one has said this is beyond me personally.
She upstaged Ghouliani. She's really hit her stride.
That is disgusting. She is shameless.
That is disgusting. She is shameless.
Forget about the 9-11 imagery for a minute. The underlying message is fraudulent. She says she stood up for health care when almost no one else would. That's false. Polls showed overwhelming support for universal healthcare before she got her paws on the issue in 1993-1994 and then tarred the whole issue with her failure. Shame on Hillary for this. I hope Obama or Edwards quickly responds. Oh and the 9-11 imagery is disgusting as the others have said.
Hillary is standing... ... there and doing nothing. Just like she did in 1993, when her intransigence and arrogance torpedoes universal healthcare for a generation.
This ad reminds me that Hillary is steadfast in her core principles and sympathetic towards the vulnerable. Many 9/11 workers were her constituents; she did indeed advocate for them.

Ha, this is ad is pretty shameless. It's true she did not back down from her formed-in-secret health care plan, did not consider reasonable compromises and not only got nothing accomplished, but lost congress in 1994 to boot. Then she backed down.
Sure, she supported popular things like health care for kids, vets, and ground-zero workers, but she screwed up comprehensive health care reform and then took it off the table for years. How many people suffered and died in the meantime due to her mistakes? Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me. I wonder if anybody is going to call her on this or let her spin hang out there with impunity. I won't be holding my breath.
