"Raucous Applause" For Ex-Gay At Obama Event

29 Oct 2007 01:12 pm

I just kind of like the headline...

Donnie McClurkin's revenge.

"Don't call me a bigot or anti-gay, when I have been touched by the same feelings," McClurkin went on. "When I have suffered with the same feelings. Don't call me a homophobe, when I love everybody … Don't tell me that I stand up and I say vile words against the gay community because I don't. I don't speak against the homosexual. I tell you that God delivered me from homosexuality."

McClurkin's words drew raucous applause from the crowd, who had lined up around the block to get into the Township Auditorium in Columbia.

Don't call me anti-Obama when I vote against him.

I don't think I'm the only homosexual who thinks this whole story is a bit ridiculous.

Talk to me about the Clintons throwing the gays under the bus in 1993 with "Don't ask, Don't tell" and "DOMA" before you start lecturing me about who Obama stands onstage with.

Are you seriously telling me that we have to ignore and disown everyone who disagrees with us? INCLUDING people who think I'm a sickness or a perversion. The ONLY way we are going to change their minds, or at least their children's minds, is by SPEAKING to them. NOT by shunning them to the corners.

Grow up, America. And grow up, HRC sycophantic supporters of HRC.

This is a manufactured issue. The Clintons are personal friends with that Louisiana local official who stopped people from walking over a bridge into his parish during the Katrina tragedy. Which one is worse? I don't think its a close call that the Louisiana guy is worse.
