Romney Brackets The President

17 Oct 2007 11:34 am

The news out of the president's presser today will probably be his invocation of the specter of World War III** to refer to the threat of a nuclear of Iran.

In an e-mailed press release that hit inboxes about three minutes after Bush finished speaking, Mitt Romney's campaign wants YOU to know that the Romney Agenda inclides the fight against "radical jihad" anywhere and everywhere.

STRATEGY FOR A STRONGER AMERICA: DEFEATING THE JIHADIST THREAT

"There is a war being waged by the terrorists. And as long as we have a Republican president, we're going to have a war on terrorists." – Governor Romney (Jason Spencer, "Yankee Governor With Southern Values' Backs Military And Attacks 'HillaryCare'," The Spartanburg Herald-Journal, 7/20/07)

** Evidently, Bush doesn't fully accept Norman Podhoretz's arguments.

It is true, whether you like the guy or not, he has some extraordinarily talented professionals working for him. And that is much needed when Hillary has intelligence around her like Paul Begala, James Carville, Howard Wolfson, Harold Ickes, etc.

Romney is really a "Bush on Steroids". If you want more war, new wars then vote for empty suite Romney.
Romney bought Bob Jones' endorsement who had previously written in 2000 that, "The diminution of evangelistic enterprise to cults which call themselves Christian, including Catholicism and Mormonism, is frightening."

What is the basis for your claim that Romney "bought" the endorsement of Bob Jones? Are you alleging that he made some kind of contribution to BJU?

Romney doesn't want more war - if you really think that, you are either a liberal who doesn't care to know any better, or a Ron Paul supporter, or both. He simply wants to protect the American people, and help stabilize and strengthen world relations. If we (the civilized World) allow a crazy man to acquire a nuclear weapon that he'd probably strap to his own kid's back and send to Israel, we should be considered complicit with his efforts. My bet is that Romney wins the primary, and the general election, and that after 4 years we'll have less war, less poverty, less terrorism, and more peace, more prosperity, and a more friendly global climate. Any takers?

B-Boy, youve got some serious issues my friend! First off, my opinion of an Iranian invasion by the United States is that it would be the beginning of WW3! We absolutely need a reconciliation period for our own military. We need to withdraw from Iraq and get our stuff together. Going into Iran with all of the other political problems we have pending in my opinion would be the stupidist thing we could do as a country. Besides the main issue that needs direct attention in our own country is the North american Union, getting a new fresh face in the White House, (NOT HILLARY or OBAMA) declaring "Spring Cleaning" day on Capital Hill and putting an end to communist legislaton that removes freedoms from the American people! To hell with Iran for 2008 if we really really suspect they want to end the US with a nuclear confrontation, we can give them what they bargain for by launching a few strategic tactical nukes in their direction and leaving our boys here! The war-loving folks of the Untited States need to understand that you WILL NOT change the minds of anyone willing to blow themselves up for their cause! You have to WIPE THEM ALL OUT! David

Let the warmonger Mittster send his five sons to Iraq first before he thinks of any other wars.

Romney is not a warmonger, but he is trying to get the Bush support base on his side. It will be critical in the fight against lil' old Giuliani.

Tough on Terror vs. Tough on Crime.

Of course, when he takes office, I would expect him to take a far smarter approach to the war than the current administration, and end it before too long.

Personally, I don't think Bush is actually running this war. What was the last executive order you saw?

Under Romney, I expect to see movement, and I don't just mean of a tail between our legs. (aka Hillary war)

Muslims Against Sharia commend Governor Romney for clearly defining the enemy and standing up to Islamist lobby and PC establishment.
