Guiliani is almost certainly the most ignorant and unserious candidate of any candidate running in either party.His foreign policy experience consists of cleaning squeegee men out of Times Square, locating his emergency disaster response center in the World Trade Center after it had already been the location of a major terrorist attack, and hiring the raving lunatic Norman Podhoretz as one of his main foreign policy advisers.

Joe Biden is the Chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee and a deep foreign policy expert. I'd stack Biden up against 1000 Rudy Giulianis any day.

That's right, he arrested homeless people. That's the Rudy New Yorkers know. The Rudy firemen know is that not a single police officer died when the second WTC tower fell because they got the order to get out while 121 firemen died because their radios didn't work -- a problem Mayor Rudy failed to fix in seven years.

My dilemma is as a voter who's choice may come down to a race for the Presidency between Rudy Giuliani & Hillary Clinton. Hillary has never held an executive position in her life. As a Senator from New York she has not accomplished ANYTHING. Her candidacy exists because of the good will that the Clinton Machine has built up with Democratic Power Base and High Net Worth donors, the perception that she has "paid her dues" and that it is essentially her turn. The rest of America is being spun by the machine at work 24/7 but the grassroots we love ya...Americans are just not feeling it for Hillary. When you get right down to it there is more smoke and mirrors on the Democratic side than the Republican side. The Republican agenda is very clear and pronounced, whether you agree with it or not. Hillary has triangulated every single issue to the point that Americans really have no idea what she stands for or what decisions that she may make. Her inevitability is put out there by the establishment but in the end, even Democrats, Independents, including this one who voted for Clinton twice and did fundraising on Clinton's 1992 campaign, I have learned that they simply offer Americans False Hope in a Kennedy'esque fashion. JFK is not coming back. The Democratic party needs to evolve beyond the Clinton machine. Trust me, there are many voters who genuinely want to vote for an honest Democrat who will turn away from Hillary. Why would I consider voting for Rudy? The turn around in New York City in my lifetime was not a myth or legend. It was very real. I have met the man and his wife and think that regardless of what pundits might express they are warm and genuine people and fun to be around. Ambition is not a crime. As much as it bothers me to hear anyone who is still alive postulating their heroism for 9/11, I do think that the man is a Natural Born Leader who will anger many but move the country forward and get some smart people around him. If Hillary becomes President, the Democratic machine out of power will be reinstalled with many of the same players who were in power during her husband's Presidency. I do not know if that is what I want again at this juncture. I bought the Clinton bull-s__t before, I do not know if I can digest it one more time. The foregoing being said, while I find Hillary an otherwise compelling personality and qualified to be my Senator, I do not want her as my President necessarily. If I genuinely had to Vote for someone from New York City, my choice would be Mayor Michael Bloomberg.

Usually with the baggage he has you would think he would keep a low profile. No, he did not "run" the city. When he was gone, it ran just fine without him, even though he tried to illegally extend his term because he actually believed the city couldn't run without him.

Actually Matt, NYC is the 4 largest govt in the country (US Federal, CA, NY State, NYC). But what's remarkable about NYC govt, especially during the Guiliani's era, was how limited the executive power and HOME RULE were at the time. If you really know NYC govt, then I don't need to explain home rule.

What a lot of people outside NYC don't realize is that much of NYC isn't governed by NYC elected officials. Much power is ceded to NY State. Did you know that Guiliani had no/little budgetary control over the subways? Or buses? There was no mayoral control of the schools when Guiliani was mayor. Housing policy? Look to the state - not the mayoral agency.

Sure, Guiliani had control over more than just filling potholes.. but it was hardly like being a governor, even.

He embellished the amount of time he was at ground zero--and insulted the police and fire that were there, he put the emergency command center in the wrong place against the advise of experts, he allowed workers to be exposed to toxic chemicals. Once the first couple hours of 9/11 ended the feds took over, so 99% of the time Rudy was useless, and if you wanna talk about stopping crime I'm sure Hitler stopped crime pretty well to.

Well it's not surprising or different to see a hateful response by a right winger as in Rudy's spokesman. I really fear for our country with the direction it's taking. The religious fanatics, the corporate crooks, this completely corrupt and incompetent administration have ripped the Constitution to shreds and are spitting on the American flag as we speak. The corruption of this administration can be researched easily on Google. 4,000+ dead troops over an intentional lie into a war for oil. 100's of thousands of dead innocent Iraqis that no one seems to care about. 12 million (?) illegal immigrants who clearly cannot all be sent back and are not all deadbeat criminals. The religious fanatics seem to represent a KKK atmosphere of hate and southern white purity as if they are the superior species. I find this highly disturbing.

Rudy Giuliani is a VERY dangerous man to even consider putting into the White House and if he gets there, we'll see more corruption and more dead soldiers. I'll just hope it's the republican voters who lose their loved ones when they vote any of these war mongers into office. The ignorance on the right and bloody thirsty war mongers is embarrassing as an American. 70% of Iraqi's 70+ million people are under 30 yrs old and do not approve of their government... just as 70% of this country (has finally come to its senses) and realized Bush is incompetent and a Cheney puppet.

It amazes me to see people go into their mega corporation churches clutching a bible, and coming out wanting to kill 70 million Iranians, send 12 million Hispanics (and other countries represented) packing with no thought to the entire process, and don't give a flying fig about the slaughtered Iraqis because of our military presence.... yet they clutch those bibles and spread fear, ignorance and hate in the name of their beloved god.

Joe Biden will brilliant last night. He obviously has a command of foreign policy that Rudy is clueless about. What is disgusting is how Giuliani is playing the 9/11 card. And worst of all he is lining himself up with the Texas oil and Wall Street hedge fund billionaires who funded the swift boat slime machine. It will be an ugly campaign as all of Rudy's dirty laundry is exposed and the Republican counter attacts will be just as ugly. Plus Rudy is another "my way or the highway" type like Bush.

Joe Biden was absolutely correct in his observation of Giuliani. This attack by Giuliani is symtomatic of his short temper and lack of any panache. Giuliani has consistently lied about his own record and appears to be just as bad in his foreign policy views designed to please the lunatic right wing.

Not even close. The people who benefitted the most from September

11th were the ones Eisenhower warned us about in his farewell speech:

Without 911, Bush's wars-for-profit in Afghanistan and Iraq could never

have been foisted on the admittedly half-asleep-to-start-with American

people. The Iraqi oil industry would have continued to produce, thus

keeping the price of a barrel down where Clinton had it in 1999, below

$20. Lee Raymond's retirement package of $398 Billion would never have

happened, nor EXXON's banner year. The weapons mfgrs would have had

to make fewer missiles and hope that some corrupt congressman would

buy them with our money.

The Taliban's ban on opium would have continued, denying the CIA their

prime source of funding, thru Turkey, to the KLA in Kosovo, to the

markets of Europe.

giuliani would dominate biden in a debate. biden has done nothing but sit on a committee for 20 years, he has no real world experience. he has lead nothing. he has ran nothing. he wouldnt know the first thing about being a chief executive officer. giuliani would chew him up and spit him out.

guiliani is an atrocious person, and as a new yorker i watched his incompetence, mean spiritness, and embarassing personal behavior for too long.

biden has tremendous foreign policy experience and has made innumerable efforts in understanding the political aspects of policy and of diplomacy.

rudy has no foreign experience whatsoever except taking one of his mistresses [his pr and top assistant at the time] to italy to pitch a little woo. a serial adulterer, and 9/11 braggart who did NOTHING. No radios or repeaters that worked, and placing his command quarters in WTC after being repeatedly advised of it's vulnerability re: '93 attack.

rudy's placement of command center as rent payer at WTC is still fishy, as was his purchase of radios for Police and Firemen that were unusable. He had years to correct this, and we were totally unprepared with unworkable radios, at the cost of over 300 firemen's lives.

he was continually arrogant and imperial in his relations with Firemen. rudijudi are not a winning combination. he's going to put judi into his cabint meetings? how is this even conceivable?

guiliani is using 9/11 as his ticket to the WHouse, and is guided by advisor Podhoretz, the lunatic fanatic neocon whose greatest wish is to nuke iran,syria, or the entire middle east if need be. this is foreign policy experience?

guiliani would unquestionably be a lot worse than our current worst president george bush.

Poor Katie Levinson, she has no idea how to respond to the ass whupping her overhyped candidate recieved at the hands of the vastly superior Joe Biden last night. Giuliani is running scared. He is getting thrashed in the national polls by Hillary Clinton, and he has been losing steam to lightweight's ;ike Mitt Romney and Fred Thompson for months and weeks.

Biden was in Iraq while Rudy Giuliani was at home trying to figure out how to excuse his massive lack of knoweldge on foriegn policy and domestic issues. Biden has planned for America's future while Giuliani was takiong bizarre calls from his wife during speaches. Giuliani is an empty suit, and all the spin in the world can't hide that from America. Levinson picked a real loser in Giuliani. Biden and Clinton will be mopping the floor with him and her come election day...if he even lasts that long, what a joke.
