Giuliani, who once said yes, was asked.
He answers:
"What I believe is that we have to be very aggressive about endorsing the gun laws that already existed...."
"What I believe is that the second amendment.. government can impose reasonable regulations.. (boos) ... about criminal background... background of mental instability.... and if those regulations go beyond that, then they are unconstitutional...states can have a little bit of leeway..."
Giuliani: "People will be allowed to have guns. I will not interfere with that."
Thompson: "The mayor has supported a wide array of gun control laws. I'm not sure there was ever one that came up that he didn't support. The second amendment isn't a choice thing..."

Nobody should be required to take an exam or pass a test to own a gun, but criminals should not have guns and the penalties should be harsh. 10 years in prison for a first offense involving the use of a weapon, and 25 years for a second offense. We wouldn't have the problems with crime in this nation if judges weren't so stupid, and the laws we have were enforced. It would also help if police showed some respect for citizens, and weren't such a bunch of smart mouths when asked questions. Citizens in Washington DC should be allowed to own hand guns to even the odds with crooks that are armed with weapons. Smuggling guns into this country or into other states is as easy as transporting drugs from one state to another. If it wasn't so easy there wouldn't be so many people doing it. The profits are huge, and crime does pay. If it didn't pay, there would be very little crime.
