Here's A Moment

Hillary Clinton:

Talking to Iowans, she knows that "Everyone wants change. Some believe you get change by demanding you, and some believe you get change by hoping for it. Some believe you get change by working hard for it. That’s what I’ll do a president."

She worked hard on healthcare in 1993--how much change did that bring about?

Hillary doesn't want to acknowledge it, but sometimes the person trying to bring about the change is as important a catalyst for that change as the message itself.

And Hillary would be the one demanding change.

Only Edwards actually seems like he wants to work for it. Maybe Obama.

She gets another VERY subtle dig at Obama by saying that it's important for the president to be ready to "move quickly" once they get in the White House. Very subtle indeed.

Just a silly line. Anyone can play games with the various campaign themes.

I don't think that anyone believes that you can create change simply by hoping for it, but hope is a necessary prerequisite for action. I'd say Obama's volunteers and supporters on the ground are working pretty hard for change, based on my (admittingly bias) observations. I guess it makes a good soundbite though.
