Huckabee To Be Endorsed By Rubio

08 Dec 2007 07:00 pm

Republicans in Florida confirm that ex-AR Gov. Mike Huckabee will be endorsed Monday by Marco Rubio, the charismatic speaker of the Florida House of Representatives.

Rubio, who has gubernatorial and national ambitions, was the driving force behind the move to change Florida's primary date to Jan. 29.

Well, Rubio's just in time for some rough sledding, as the wheels come off for Huckabee on his record as a Governor: open borders, corruption, biggest tax hikes in Arkansas history, the Dumond rapist/murderer pardon outrage, and sharing Dick Morris with Bill Clinton.

Of course, there is no evidence in any polling or tracking data that the wheels are coming off for Huck. Just more wishful thinking from the frednecks.

More great news from Florida! So now Governor Huckabee has the endorsement of Senator Daniel Webster, the Republican Leader in the Florida State Senate, and soon Speaker Rubio in the Florida House. The Huckabee surge is everywhere! We like Mike!

I don't know who this Rubio is.

I just wanna say. Huckabee will be the GOP nominee. The more I think about it, the more I become convinced. Nothing else makes sense. Perhaps he is right and God wants him to be president but there is no stopping this guy. All scenarios point to a Huckabee nomination. Fred's campaign is dead, let's just get that out of the way. Romney is stalled. He might win New Hampshire and then what. Huckabee will win Iowa and probably South Carolina. And then it's Feb 5th with all the southern states. And it's becoming clear that a vote for Romney is a vote for Rudy (Oh the Irony). It will come down to Huckabee and Rudy.

Huckabee will be the GOP nominee. Bookmark this post. You read it here first.

you're right, it will be a Huckabee vs Rudy showdown.

For some reason, the corner of my eye processed that headline as "Huckabee To Be Endorsed By Bono".

My head about exploded.

Despite Marco Rubio's endorsement, Huck doesn't fly in Florida. SC maybe but not Florida. No doubt Huck will exit the south with tons of support but that’s as far as he goes. Huck vs. Giuliani? What will the south do if Huck loses that battle and Giuliani is the only thing standing between them and Hitlary or worse, if Huckabee is the only thing?
I know religion is "job 1" down there but think of the consequences of the holier than thou vote for Huck and not someone who can actually win in the general election. Romney may not be the proper color holy water but he's drinkable vs. the poison of the left. Short term selfish gains, "we win, we win, we win" won't win. Ya'll feel like fools in November.
Hltlary wants Huckabee, don’t you get it? What will life be like under an atheist? This may be the last chance for your voice to be heard and you'll only have yourselves to blame. Don't fall into the trap. The left's biggest lie is that they don't exist. Think about it.

... Giuliani is the only thing standing between them and Hitlary or worse ...

What will life be like under an atheist? This may be the last chance ...

Do you folks have any idea how completely unhinged you sound? Really? You think America is like this? You think most people really want a theocracy?

Sheesh.

"You think most people really want a theocracy?"

Is that you Hillary?

Is that you Hillary?

Apparently reading isn't your strong suit. No, it's not, and yes, it was a real question.

If you think most Americans are persuaded by arguments invoking "Hitlary" and warning against the perils of non-religious government, more power to you.

Personally, I'm looking forward to the days when the Republican party wrests control back from the christofascists and recognizes that there's a reason that religion and government were designed to be separate in this country.

New Mason-Dixon polls have Huckabee with a huge lead in IA, ahead in SC, while Romney maintains a small margin in NH. And Clinton is in big trouble in Democratic numbers.

The Republican party is shooting itself in the foot with either Huckabee or Giuliani as its nominee. Doesn't electability matter, as well as fidelity to conservativism? Mike Huckabee has neither.

Outside of Rudy, Mike is the weakest general election candidate that the Republicans could field. He simply alienates too many Republican voters who view themselves as libertarians or fiscal conservatives, and many securitycons do not trust Hucakbee to fully prosecute the War on Terror. His emphasis on his religiosity rather than the more earthly matters he will be responsible for will likewise alienate many moderates and independents who want to elect a President, not a Pastor.

What's more, is that he has lots of residual baggage and ethical problems from his term as Governor that the Clintonistas will exploit to the fullest. Mike Huckabee may be glib and have a silver tongue, but that doesn't make him electable in the general election. Folks, I say this in all honesty- Huckabee would be a loser in the general election, and the media will gleefully build him up now, only to nastily take him down later.

I'm not sure *any* of them can win. Really, I've never seen a roster of folks so (electorally) fatally flawed.

Republicans will not fall for what the Dems fell for in 2004 and that is "lets get someone who is electable instead of who we believe in" Republicans will elect someone that they believe in and in doing so will get elected. mark my words.

Huckabee got 48% of the african american vote running for re-election and he has another one with my vote!!

Go Mike Huckabee!!!!!

Go Mike Huckabee!!!!!

Yes, by all means. Go, Mike, go!!!

After all, he's the least worst of all the exceptionally bad GOP candidates. As long as you're going to lose, you might as well alienate every single last one of the non-religious nutcases in the country. Please, nominate the Huckster!

Huckabee is on the cover of this week's Newsweek magazine, testifying to how much he has surged in the past three weeks!

... testifying to how much he has surged in the past three weeks!

For a candidate with no organization(*), no money, no policy team, almost no experience, totally crazy views (evolution, anyone?), and a cartoonish retinue of "celebrity" endorsers, he's doing pretty damn good among the raving lunatic Republican primary crowd. The non-raving lunatic Republican primary crowd is split a couple of ways, and unless they're careful, Huck's going to win the nomination and the marginalization of the GOP will be complete (not that that's a bad thing, I'm just sayin').

(*)unless you count the huge amount of "non-coordinated" organization that's not really affiliated with him (wink wink) but is doing GOTV, "voter guides", speeches, rallys, and the like.

Why do you think Rudy is being nice to Huckabee? Its because he knows he is doomed so he wants a chance to be the top VP choice under Huckabee. People want someone who gives them hope not fear like Rudy. Rudy is playing the 911 card. I'm sick of it. Any one of the candidates can be president after all its the folks they have working for them that matters... its the team rather than the one man.

"Personally, I'm looking forward to the days when the Republican party wrests control back from the christofascists and recognizes that there's a reason that religion and government were designed to be separate in this country".

Thank you for making my point, even if you didn't understand it.

Please consider this:

-If you want "In God we trust" taken off our currency.

-If you want corruption and big money to rule the country.

-If you want your children/grandchildren to grow up in a country without a chance unless they are born into money.

-If you want to believe in lies and flip flops.

-If you want adultry to lead as an example for all the young people to set the goals to.

-If you want someone who never went to public schools.

-If you want someone who did not have to work hard for what they have earned.

-If you want someone who has multi million dollar bank accounts just because of their family name.

-If you want someone who don't know what it is like to mow their own lawn.

Then don't vote for Mike Huckabee!!!

As for me and my family we want honesty and christian values to be seen in our goverment. Also to me the wealthy guys in the race have nothing in common with the average poor/middle class person. They have no idea what it is to have to decide wheater to buy groceries or try to skim by with what you have so you can buy gas to get to work, or let some bills go for a month so you can buy gifts for your children. I feel Mike Huckabee knows where/how these things affect the poor/middle class in this country. I hope all can look past all the big money ads to put Mike down so they can keep there power trip over the rest of us. Would it really be that bad to have a president who has some compassion, morals, feelings and open minded policy for the people? So in 08 vote Huckabee for a better america lets put the people first again and not big business.

VOTE MIKE HUCKABEE!!!!!!!!

Thank you for making my point, even if you didn't understand it.

Umm, okay. One of us isn't making much sense, and I'm fairly certain it's not the one of us that's saying that an unqualified preacher that doesn't believe in science won't be acceptable to most Americans. But whatever.

"won't be acceptable to most Americans"

Actually, only 13% of adults believe in evolution as it is officially taught, that "Humans evolved, God did not guide process." Again, almost everyone went to high school, and way more Americans have been to college then 13%. Only 21% of those who voted for Kerry agreed with evolution as officially taught, and only 6% of those who voted for Bush thought so. And remember that Bush beat Kerry.

13% is surely not most Americans. Think about the people you know. Do only about 13% of the people you know believe in evolution as officially taught?

Let's bring this country back to the principles it was founded on. We have taken prayer out of our schools and the "Christ" out of Christmas and the list goes on. Take notice of the news folks...now we have more school shootings and it's obvious this nation is going to hell in a handbasket and quickly! It's amazing how far we have come from our Godly principles. It's more than obvious this nation is getting worse. Let's elect the right candidate for presidency and pray for a God fearing man in office. Not ruled by greed or influenced by power but a man, a leader in the White House that rules my his convictions, Godly wisdom and principles. I won't say I support Bush but I will say that I am neither Republican or Democrat but an independ thinker that ONLY wants WHO God wants in office. As for Marco Rubio. Those who don't know him. He's a humble and "for the working class" people being that his mother worked at K-Mart stocking shelves and his dad also had a humble job. He came from humble beginnings with a VISION and is soaring to new heights. He's a motivated, articulate speaker with a desire for change on not only a state level but a national level. Wow, you're one of the FEW people in the blogosphere who actually READ, apparently. I'm very tired of the Democrats being blamed for something that Marco RUBIO the dark opie FOISTED on Florida along with his 99 other great ideas.
Including replacing the property tax with a sales tax.
You just made a NEW FAN.
Thank you !!
