Rumor Patrol: McCain and Matching Funds

28 Dec 2007 10:26 am

Rumor: McCain has formally accepted federal financing for his primary campaign and thus is subject to its limits...

Fact: McCain has secured a loan using his campaign's assets as collateral...but not future funds from the federal match... and has not opted in to the nomination funding system. The FEC has approved million of dollars worth of matching funds, but McCain can't spend them until March and hasn't decided whether he'll need to.

McCain advisers believe that a victory in New Hampshire will ease his money woes considerably...(although the same argument was made in 2000...)

It seems that George Step-on-all-of-us at ABC News will be lobby for HRC this Sun.

He a former Clinton enabler. She a fake experiencee.

Poor Obama: He will lose. This cannot get worse:

1. Shaheen on TV
2. Bill on Rose critizing (falsely) Obama
3. Bill chasing/calling repeatedly Register female editors
4. Penn and Kerrey on TV
5. And, now, George Step... using ABC news as a microphone for HRC.

Poor Obama: He is finished. A defeat in IA, NH, and SC. I am a loser.

We can only hope that the people of Iowa see through whatever unsubstantial aspects of this barrage that there may be and focus their attention on the character and policies of the three candidates. If they do that.... it seems likely that Barack Obama will win. He has what it takes to be a great president and to creatively move the country and the world forward on a host of important issues.

Go Obama!
