The Daily Five: How Do You Figuratively March?

20 Dec 2007 09:07 pm

1. Rudy Giuliani cancels his New Hampshire schedule for Friday, keeps schedule for Saturday and Sunday. .... Clinton has events in New Hampshire; same with Obama. Edwards announces eight-day bus tour to the caucus; Mitt Romney cancels Friday event in New Hampshire; Huckabee and Thompson continue in Iowa;

2. Obama draws 900 to Portsmouth....bad weather grounds Clinton chopper in Iowa....

3. Boston Herald endorses McCain....Romney holds event at Orange, City Iowa company that makes high-tech products for the military; CBS's Scott Conroy writes that an Australian reporter was barred entry under international arms control guidelines....Romney says Huckabee would make a great VP....Peta to Romney: " The Best Way to Fight Global Warming and Rising Health-Care Costs Is to Tax Meat."

4. The Democratic Party makes fun of Mitt Romney thusly:

5. Huckabee ally Blue State Republican makes this point: "

"... quess what? Even if he doesn't win this time around, he has ALREADY become THE most powerful social conservative in America. The old guard of so-called "Christian leaders" are gone."

And Huckabee has a theology degree "figuratively speaking" that will help him fight Islamofacism. So which is worse, the guy who sees his father march with MLK or the guy who promotes a credential he doesn't hold?

Can we move on to talking about core conservative principles and how Reagan wanted to abolish the Department of Ed. and Huckabee wants to increase the federal education beauracracy? What happend to that post?

Mr. Marc, I saw your video. Superb analysis. Of course, you and others (in every media outlet) know the result: HRC will be the President.

Thus, a small question. How do reporters write their stories without this on their mind? Is there some truth to this? You see, these past two weeks have been cruel for Obama: Shaheen, Bill on Rose, Bill chasing Register female editors for endrosement of his wife, Penn on Hardball, Kerrey with HRC, etc.

And, no major outlet on the Press has called the Clinton Attack Machine unfair. The Bill on Rose was at High Noon. Everyone could see it, yet no one called Clintons.

The reporters are umpires: Bill of Rights.

What to do? Just accept Clinton victory as your video has so truthfully suggested.

Maybe Romney can square off against Hillary, the candidate with figurative experience.

Does anyone else believe the Edwards cheating story? I do...

Does anyone else not believe the "Hillary has military experience" story? I don't.

Mitt Romney has lied so much he doesn't know what the truth is anymore. I couldn't stop laughing today when he tried to change the definition of the word "saw".

This guy is a piece of work. I just can't believe he has fooled anyone. But, he has agreed to support all of the Republican Establishment's corporate greed policies which is why they are now backing him. The Establishment doesn't want someone like Huckabee with his own mind and true convictions to be in the White House. They want someone in there they can control. Romney is their man because will do or say anything to be elected....lying seems to be second nature to him

We should fear any candidate like Romney who puts his political career above the interests of the people he is supposed to serve. I do not agree with Giuliani's social stances but I would vote for him over Romney (I will NOT vote for Romney, ever). Giuliani is at least honest about what he believes and I respect that.

I am a Huckabee supporter because even if I don't agree with everything he does, I believe in him. He made tough decisions as governor in the interest of the people rather than what would help him politically.

Many people in Massachusetts said Romney did very little to help the state while governor- he just had his eye on the presidency. We cannot have someone like this as president. Please, wake up to his lies and deceit!! Research the candidates thoroughly---do not rely on headlines and the news. Fox News is so so biased in favor of Romney

Romney is a LIAR.

This mor*n said that 'he saw his father march with MLK' not once but TWICE, and now after he was caught lying he changed the definition of word 'saw'.

It depends on what the word "saw" means!

Mormoney is Figuratively not a mormon.

I thought Clinton's parsing of the meaning of "it" was strained, but clearly, Romney has taken the crown.
