Clinton's Donors Fly To DC For Summit

11 Jan 2008 12:38 pm

Hillary Clinton's campaign is flying major donors to Washington, D.C. for two days of strategizing and face with time senior campaign officials.

The donors got the word last night.

Hello, Marc-

I can't believe that HRC is running low on funds. This cycle has seen candidates, particularly the two leaders on the Democratic side, raise what could only be accurately described as stupendous amounts of cash...

"Clinton Donor"

Not to be obtuse, but could you write a 2-3 paragraph post on what a "Clinton Donor" is. There was another piece (perhaps not by you) written pre-NH, about some doom-and-gloom meeting among them, and it contained the phrase "such is the life of a Clinton donor."

Do they expect quid pro quos? Have they been shackled to the "Clinton machine?" Who are they, in general, if not by name? What do they get out of it?

Who's the boss --- the donors or the Clintons?

I guess that last question is central to what I "don't get." In any other aspect of life, the people who pay the bills hold the leverage. I seem to get this sense that somehow the Clintons hold their donors in thrall.

It's a shame I have to get on here and report significant news that happens not to favor Hillary Clinton's campaign. How could The Atlantic hire this prick?

Norman Hsu was a Clinton Donor. I wonder who is taking his place this weekend. And, whether people say a moment of prayer for him.
