Democratic Fundraising Update

** The DNC raised $51 million in 2007, which amounts to an increase from the same period in 2003, when the party raised $42.9M.

Note that the Wall Street Journal estimated that the Democratic presidential candidates raised a combined $223M to the Republicans $152M for the year.

Yes, but the DNC got pummeled by the RNC. Not a good sign.

But the DNC always gets pummeled by the RNC. This year, it was by a much smaller margin. The fact that the democrats have managed to raise not just more money than republicans overall, but by a significant margin, is pretty astounding.

I thought we outraised them in 2006. If not, I'm happy to hear the numbers are better. I just think that 2008 is going to be much tougher than many want to believe. The congressional approval rating is deservedly in the toilet, and the Republicans will not lose the WH easily. We need all the advantages we can get.
