DNC Intervenes In Nevada At-Large Lawsuit

The Democratic National Committee has filed a motion to intervene in the lawsuit brought by teachers union against the Nevada Democratic Party's plan for at-large precincts.

This means that the DNC wants to preserve the principle that state parties can determine their delegate selection rules, and then, having chosen those rules, submit them to the DNC for the approval.

A DNC official said the motion was filed because procedurally, it was the only way the party could file a brief in support of the party.

"Obviously, we support the Nevada state party and the previously recognized right of the national parties to set the rules for the nominating contests,"

The DNC fought Florida Democrats in court who charged that the DNC's decision to reject the Florida party's delegate selection date amount to an equal protection violation. The court sided with the DNC.

A judge was set to rule on a temporary restraining order yesterday...

BTW: it seems as if the DNC and the Clinton family are on the opposite sides of this debate.

I think many in the DNC see the cynical manipulations of the Clintons in using rovian tactics.
The Clintons are famous for win at any cost thinking and are also great admirers of Karl Roves strategies and tactics. Instead of being repulsed like many have been by Rove's tactics, the clintons seek to copy him.
Many in the DNC know that the Clintons will use illegal and repulsive tactics to win. They don't care what the people want, they only care what they want. If they see that the people don't want them, they don't care. They will simply force themselves on the people by any means.
We all know the Teachers and the Nevada democratic party leadership are Hillary's backers and like all her surrogates, they will give up their reputation, their soul and their credibility to serve their mistress.
And we know this is exactly what is going on in Nevada.
Thank god the DNC has the spine to stand up to the Clintons and tell them they are not going to sit around while the clintons hijack the primaries.

While Paul is right on that note...it's also worth nothing that Howard Dean endorsed Barack Obama back in 2004, the two campaigned together, and Obama is much Dean's heir in terms of the people-powered campaign strategy than anyone else in the race.

Every Democrat needs to stand up against this disgusting injustice on the part of Hillary Clinton. John Kerry is urging all Democrats to unite and oppose this blatant manipulation of the rules to keep people from voting. Is she really that scared that if people actually come out and vote she'll lose? Hillary is the new Karl Rove, just with different opinions about how the rules shouldn't apply to her.

Hearing is set for 9:00 am tomorrow, according to the Motion.

Also, the judge can throw out the suit simply because it is so late, unless plaintiffs can show a reason why they couldn't file earlier, according to the Las Vegas Sun.

Everyone--contact the DNC to offer your thanks and support on this. I have been sending back their fundraising letters for a couple of months now to let them know that if the Clintons are somehow nominated, I'll be packing up my lifelong Democratic voting record and taking it elsewhere.

It is strange that CNN, NBC, Fox and others are not picking up on this story. It is extremely important.

It is as if, the Clintons are trying to do this quietly.

I ONLY HAVE ONE QUESTION, WHY IS HILLARY CLINTON NOT FORCED TO DISCLOSE THAT SHE AND BILL CLINTON ARE BEING SUED FOR CAMPAIGN FINANCE FRAUD IN THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA????? THE TRIAL IS SLATED TO START IN OCTOBER OF THIS YEAR AND THE DISCOVERY PHASE IS BEING CONDUCTED NOW!!! THE CLINTONS ARE NOT GOD AND THEY ARE NOT ROYLTY THE RULES AND LAWS ARE MENT TO BE OBEYED BY THEM ALSO!!!!
