Endorsement Update

18 Jan 2008 10:02 am

Two interesting endorsements this a.m.

Rep. Linda Sanchez (D-CA) endorses Barack Obama:

"Since I began serving in Congress five years ago, I have seen the difficulty in bringing fresh ideas to Washington, DC, and to our country. Sadly, great talent and ideas are too often dismissed because those who possessed them were seen as too idealistic, too young, or too unwilling to submit to the same old Washington way of doing things. Senator Obama is the candidate who can change that culture by mobilizing a new generation to get involved in the civic life of our country. He is reinvigorating America by showing us that we all have a stake -- and a say -- in our democracy and our country's future.

And John McCain was just endorsed by the co-founder of National Right To Life, Dr. Carolyn Gerster.

"John McCain is the most qualified candidate and has a consistent and principled pro-life record," said Dr. Gerster. "He has spent his career standing up for human rights and he will continue to do so as president. John McCain will nominate judges who understand the sanctity of human life, and firmly believes that courts should not be legislating from the bench. John McCain has the conviction, strengths, and experience to serve as commander in chief from day one and that is why he has my vote."

These endorsements are very important. Yet, Clintons are powerful.

The Clinton Attack Machine is such that you will vote for it, even when you do not want to.

Exhibit A: NH white women with low-income and high-school education. They were led by Clintons' race, gender, and ethnicity baiting.

The cemetry is full of GOP who have tried to combat with Clintons.

No one can beat the Clintons. The White House is the right of HRC as part of her alimony, just like NY Senate seat. How dare a community organizer prevent her what is rightfully her? How dare? This is America, not Africa.

I am surprised. I thought surely Sanchez was going to back Clinton. Again she proves to be totally surprising.

Marc, you need to read this article. Off topic but, it is very interesting. Talks about how Obama is turning the c.w. on it's head and is so different and running a campaign that is different there are no real historical comparisons and how he drives many political writers and such crazy.

I think you may be thinking of Loretta Sanchez, who is most likely going to endorse Hillary.

It looks like Linda endorsed Obama and Loretta endorsed Clinton. I believe Obama should continue to engage the American people to reform Washington it is a long road and he is the best person to do it. I hope he continues to do it with such passion even if he loses the nomination. I am passionately supporting Sen Clinton because of her strong leadership and her ability to bring about specific change to help ordinary people. Although it will be difficult for whomever becomes our next President, if Sen Clinton has eight years in the White House. She will work with economic experts at improving the economy, Universal Health Care for all (which is not Obama's plan check his website for his plan), end the occupation of Iraq as we know it now, and help ordinary households. She has proved her commitment to working families, just by her work with the Children's Defense Fund and she has been fighting ever since. She clearly is a living example of why change takes time, unless we go out there and have a revolution, it's not happening overnight. Obama's change is compelling and will take more then eight years, but that will happen to as long as we the people continue to stay involved. I am looking forward to the change he will continue to enact and I am hoping that as people we will come together to some degree to work towards specific change along with overall srtuctural changes. That is both Obama's and Clinton's messages. Obama is talking generalities and Clinton is talking specifics
