Perhaps the HRC Moment Of The Night...

05 Jan 2008 10:17 pm

“Words are not action. As beautifully presented and passionately felt, they are not action. What we need to do is to translate thought into action and feeling into reality.”

But the moderators are being unfair to Obama, to whom that quote was directed.

He kept trying to interject and Scott Spradling kept letting Clinton go on,and Obama seemed to get progressively angrier.

And then Charlie Gibson confronts the subject head on, allowing Clinton to make the argument that Bill Clinton had, in fact, substantively changed the economy for the better.

For a candidate that keeps talking change why hasn't anyone hit him on his shady land deals with felons and his close ties to Mayor Daley? Google obama house scandal if you need help finding the evidence it is all right there.

EXACTLY! And Gibson should have immediately asked if Clinton's was a co-presidency... Otherwise, she should refrain from taking credit for her husband's accomplishments.

Words are not action?

"Yea."
"Nay."
"I do."
"You're fired."

Cf. J.L. Austin, How to Do Things with Words.

HRC's attacks do not impress me. Comparing Obama to W.? Please.

Senator Clinton: We don't need to be raising the false hopes of our country about what can be delivered

Really brings me back to my youth.

"John, you will get a video game if I say you can."

The moderators were definitely unfair to Obama in the 2nd half of the debate. It was almost like they were deabting against him instead of acting as moderators. They let Clinton go on and on with 3 straight answers before giving Edwards or Obama a chance to respond. And then they tried to cut off Obama almost immediately after he started his answer.
