Scalia's Son Endorses Romney; Lots Of Fred-Heads Re-Camp

24 Jan 2008 02:27 pm

John McCain is earning more establishment endorsements these days, but prominent Republican lawyers -- a big part of that Capital "E" Establishment --, for the most part, are briefing someone else:

Eugene Scalia, son of Justice Antonin Scalia and a former chief lawyer for the labor department, has been neutral in the presidential race until today. He's now aboard Lawyers for Romney, and joining him are about a dozen prominent Republican lawyers who, until Monday, had been supporters of Fred Thompson.

McCain looks to have a ceiling of support in Florida. The latest poll (Mason-Dixon) has Romney up 30% to 26%. Not a big lead, yes, but McCain has big stuck at 25% in all the polls he has been leading in as well. It seems that he is unable to break out of that range -- and that most uncommitted voters are not leaning towards McCain at all but looking to join a more conservative candidate. Check out the analysis of this range issue here

Good points Daniel. It'll be interesting to see what happens at debate tonight

It looks like the conservative base is rallying around Romney as the best shot to beat McCain. From the looks of the polls in Florida, it looks like they'll do it too.

Fred had an amazingly good set of policy briefs on his website. That Romney was able to get almost all Fred's braintrust to join him speaks volumes about how they all saw Romney as a legitimate conservative, and John McCain as the true, authentic one.

None joined Huckabee, it seems. While there are some aspects I like about Pastor Huck, most notably his ability to connect and his great comedic timing - I fell into line with others that he is more a Christian Socialist than a conservative.

Supposedly, his big thing for tonight's debate is going to be about Romney cutting some people's jobs as he restructured and salvaged some companies and redirected some Startup's labor staffing.

Well, duh! Any reorg, even if it is a spectacular success and grows payroll and profits 3X in five years, will involve some jobs going away as others are added. I don't know what Huckabee's reasoning is other than populist demogoguery. What does he expect? Soviet-style lifetime employment?

What exactly is Hucks messsage? That he will go to Washington to clean up government but never cut a government job?

Whoops! Accidently leaving out one word does change a whole lot.
Add in bold That Romney was able to get almost all Fred's braintrust to join him speaks volumes about how they all saw Romney as a legitimate conservative, and NOTJohn McCain, as the true, authentic one.

And if Romney takes Florida, those Fred advisors, some of the best, no longer chained to a napping, grouchy John McCain wingman but an energetic candidate...will greatly benefit Romney in the rest of the campaign.

Huckabee's continued attempts to try and beat Romney up for being a successful business man (i.e. blame him for people losing jobs) is either ignorant or disingenuous. Sometimes jobs have to be cut in order to save companies and get them on track for future growth and prosperity. How many jobs were created when Romney set Staples, Dominoes, Sports Authority, Brookstone, etc. up for future success? Staples alone had no employees when Romney got involved. It now employs 52,302 people (according to Fortune). If Huckabee wanted to give Romney a vote for each job created by the companies he influenced and take a vote for each job lost, I think Romney would make the trade.

Conservatives are coalescing around Mitt's candidacy. McCain and Giuliani are going to split the smaller moderate vote in Florida, leaving Mitt to dominate the larger conservative vote there. Tonight's debate will help this process along. Mitt won big.

Huckabee is a spoiler to grab Mitt's cultural conservative votes. Thompson is ideologically compatible with Mitt and his supporters are certainly welcome by all us Romney supporters.

Mitt will take Florida but looking at Super Tuesday polls he's 10-15 points back of Mccain and Huckabee in several states.....we need a win in Florida to generate enough momentum to turn states like NY, NJ, PA, CAL,Georgia, etc....

Mitt's the first candidate I've been fired up about since Reagan. We're fortunate a successful real world private sector quality person as Mitt is willing to take the arrows coming with being a candidate to help our country get back on the right track. I see this as really a community service endeavor undertaken by Mitt as he cares about the country and mankind. God Bless him.

Bill

I went to see McCain when he came to Palm Beach in 2000. At the close up range of about five feet he looked like a pasty albino with a phony grin. I left the event early when he lost control to veterans complaining about their benefits. I've seen a lot of pols up- close, and they are not impressive.

I noticed yesterday that Romney is getting a nice tan in Florida while McCain isn't.

Your correspondent, has been homeless for over twenty years because the plans for the creation of Global Plantation Economy Market Systems, including provision for salaried employment for women, serving the functioning systems of such global consumer product design, manufacturing, advertising, and distribution systems, was prepared to participate in the jettisoning of your correspondent, as had been the California Legal 'system', in the County of Los Angeles, and State of California.

Alas, the proliferation of and contributions to the noble Non-Profit-Sector, is but a fascist
'mask' designed to employee women, and their Marxist keepers, so that, as with the psychiatric trade, more than a half century ago, substantial consumer spending could be funneled into the new Global Plantation Manufacturing Economies, proliferating throughout the earth.

Certainly the business acumen of Mr. Romney, fits well into the scale of income flowing to the vast array of business executives, and such is part of the Global Equity Market structure designed to finance the further expansion of the Plantation Economy Markets, whewrein laborers have no recourse, because neighboring plantations will gladly, having proliferated so exceptionally, step in and take up the work, and walk on bravery of the workers taking leave to demand that such manufacturing regions invest in the building of community infrastructures which may serve to design futures for each child, whether male or female, and whether figuratively a future worker, or a saint.

Your endorsement of Mr. Romney, whose pedigree is beyond question, as far as elitism may reach, as it were, reveals that your free expression perch may be nothing more than a Stalinist or Nazi beach lounge, destined to 'reside' among the Hotel Chain Venues scattered, premeditatedly, throughout the global travel regions, invariably sited contiguous to the overseas development of manufacturing reions; wherein, conscripted labor, Hitler's dream, is consigned to produce the materials, viz a viz consumer and entertainment value products, which become the foundation for the profits of advertisers, distributors, and local and federal government coffers; a day dream of Hitler's armies from south of the border who are flooding across the border, to enjoy being 'resplendant' consumers of the entertainment value enterprises exporting their goods to the 'consumer based economies.

The future of America, viz a viz Hitler's Harvard publishing Institute, whose lawyers selected an antebellum conscript to publish its law journal, oand/or nominated a Madonna-Want-to-be, from the southern states.

It is clear that America's battle is to completely arrest, our own, as well as other would-be the consuming nations' indigenous lusts to control distribution within their regions, such as in the mideast, where for example Iraqui's murder each other for the seminal authority to gain financially fom the consumer product post production market economy.

Senator McCain, and other post second world war warriors, who witnesssed Japan and South Korea, as surrogate Nazi manufacturers, become the global jumping platform for the transfer of Manufacturing to the Plantation Economies, at the end of the last century, as well as Vietnam veterans; some from south of the border, appreciate that from Africa, to Southeast Asia, where 1.7 million people were killed in Cambodia, in the 1970s to clear the way for Plantation economy "privatized' Infrastructures to be built for manufacturing, all know too well that America will not elect a leader who would have found satisfaction in acquiring vast riches, by patently supporting the obvious development of the threatening Global Plantation Economy model, through the contemporaneous structuring of consuming nation Equity Markets, primed through the Urban Development values inherent in building to meet the needs of a Global financial system designed to facilitate the assembly of natural resourses, and manufacturing capacity necessary to produce he consumer products which will flow into the hands of the Antebellum Nazi communities, in Europe, in the mid east, from south of our border, and within.
