Mitt Romney publicly professes that he is concerned about Bill Clinton being back in the White House with a lot of free time on his hands.

He shouldn't be, and it shows a worrisome lack of imagination on the part of Mr. Romney.

There are lots of public/private initiatives that come to mind, just off the top of one's head, some of which the ex-president could conduct from the comfort of the Lincoln bedroom.

Consider these:

1) Special envoy to Fidel's Gulag to end U.S. embargo on Cuban cigars.

2) Commissioner of the Women's Softball League.

3) National spokesperson for adolescent campaign for sexual abstinence.

4) Head of the Motion Picture Association (with lots of unpublicized trips to Hollywood, and foreign film colonies; nothing like private diplomacy, I always say).

5) Head of the U.S. Office of Public Integrity.

6)Chief, White House intern program.

7)Special advisor, Congressional intern program.

8) Co-Chair, with Clarence Thomas and Larry Craig, of blue-ribbon National Commission for the Rights of High-Minded but Misunderstood Public Servants.

9) Washington-based Rove-ing correspondent, Hustler magazine.

The list goes on ...

If the Republicans choose Mr. Romney, claiming that his vast experience in the private sector makes him tailor made to right the economy, we Democrats have a better argument with a Clinton co-presidency. ...

Bill Clinton has been getting down to business for years!

Can you please make this into a proper podcast?

That is, an RSS feed dedicated solely to new episodes of the show.

You may be calling the audio version of the Table a 'podcast' but it's just an MP3 file for download. The primary reason for podcasts is that they automate the process we're forced to go through currently if we want to listen to The Table.

Thanks in advance.

That started off badly, but got into some interesting points at the end. I definitely agree with what Ross said at the end. Obama is the most dangerous candidate for conservatives. He's the only candidate who has the potential to bring about transformative change. It's easy to overlook that big picture and get caught up in the inconsequential details.

I hesitate to confess that I downloaded and listened to this, albeit at 1.4x speed. Can I get a reviewing fee or something from The Atlantic?

Isn't there already a market glut of highly similar commentary? Rather than Ross sitting down and having a fun chat with Obama, how about recognizing that he wants to be *president of the U.S.* and somehow forcing him to defend his proposals?

If you can't get Obama himself, try and get a spokesman.

If you can't even get a spokesman, bring in policy experts to point out the errors in his policies.

First what amazes me is that three white men are sitting around talking about what it is to be Muslim. I'm sitting here laughing. As if they know the process or how it is that Barack Hussein Obama came by his Islamic name, came to be born a Muslim and turned his back on Islam. In the Islamic world his is what is called Murtad meaning he has rejected his faith.

It is already proven that he was raised in the Islamic faith and attended an Islamic school. So enough with dispensing your American version of what he was or was not. The problem with Obama according to his own words in his book is he is and has been "confused." Confused about what it is to be "black" electing to immitate "brotha's" by doing drugs, and rejecting his "white" family in favor of black people in the USA who bear no relationship to his Kenyan relatives.

He discusses being on foodstamps and yet in an ABC interview there is a much different story of his being sent to his very wealthy "white grandparents who sent him to a very good private school. In fact in todays dollars that very nice private school costs $16,000 per year. I'd say that is a lot of money and very few poor people can afford that living on food stamps! I suppose he got a scholarship for that!

I'd like to know if his sisters husband is a legal resident? Is this why she is keeping a low profile in this election? How is it that this picture of the Clintons surfaced so quickly with Rezko a close and personal friend of Obama? I'm sure that Obama called in a favor! I remember his saying he was going to play politics Chicago style. Well his friend Rezko is being indicted on a large number of charges and we'll see just how far those charges go! Perhaps Mr. Obama's name will be sung from the roof tops or perhaps Rezko is banking on a pardon under an Obama Administration?

Time will tell, but you have to ask yourself serious questions about a Man who is untried and untested. But as for is being a Muslim, no he isn't, he turned his back on his Islam just as he did his family. Just as he is EXPLOITING THE DEATH OF HIS MOTHER. Shameless and cowardly man that he is! He has no sense of decency and no sense of duty to anyone but himself. And even blacks people should take note that he isn't helping them! He isn't in touch with them! His children go to Private schools! How can he POSSIBLY UNDERSTAND WHAT YOU FEEL WHEN HE THINKS ALL BLACK MEN DO ARE DO DRUGS LIKE HE DID?

What type of man uses his own mothers death to promote his own campaign? Were Hillary Clinton to have said word one about having used drugs people would be all over her! But the fact you reward this guy for bad behavior is beyond belief. You will get what you deserve if he is nominated and that will be another Republican in office because you will drive the majority of Americans to the Republican Party. Unfortunately the older generation will vote for Experience over hype any day of the week.
