A prominent pro-HRC blogger is urging her to do the Gore thing... and consider dropping out.

That's the blogger than broke the macaca story and is the biggest state blogger in the country. He's beloved, and his call for Hillary to drop out will be heard in the highest places of that campaign, including HRC and WJC.
Ben Tribbett who writes NLS is correct.
Bah! You're joking right? NLS isn't taken seriously by most of his readers, let alone prominent Virginia Democrats or the liberal political 'sphere in general. Ben and his blog are NOT AT ALL influential and the Clinton campaign could care less about a 3rd-rate regional blogger's endorsement. He's gone from a venue for spreading op research to non-factor.
I'd just like to second the "who?" statement. I just gave his blog a quick once over and his lightning quick turnaround from accusing Obama's campaign of ordering Clinton back to the kitchen to asking Hilary to step down to me reeks of an amateur pro-Clinton blogger who didn't get the attention he wanted from the Clinton campaign. Five bucks says he didn't get his phone calls returned this week and the guy turned on HRC after the slight.
I doubt HIllary will make a Gore-like graceful exit. Even if she concedes the nomination, you can take it to the bank that Hillary will do everything she can in a plausibly deniable manner to undermine Obama in the general election. Of course, she will nominally endorse him. But she'll probably quietly get together with her old budy John McCain, have a replay of their vodka drinking contest, and then hand over every single piece of oppo she has on Obama to McCain. I am guessing that Bill Clinton will be on the phone with John McCain constantly giving him advice on how to beat Obama. The Clintons will try to perpetuate their soap opera to steal media attention from Obama like Bill did with John Kerry. Look, does anybody doubt that the Clitnons wanted Gore and Kerry to lose so to pave the way for the Restoration? The passive aggressive Clintons will carry on in perpetuity....
Forget about Hillary, what about the BREAKING news from NYT about McCain's affair/improper relationship with a female lobbyist? Why Marc is not on the story? CNN, MSNBC are covering this as a breaking news. Wow, would have never though of an old man like McCain cought with a lobbysist. May be it's McCain
He could have jumped ship to Obama and gotten credit from them. Or he could have stuck with Hillary and kept his mouth shut. Instead he pisses off both campaigns to do the right thing in his mind. We need more bloggers and Democrats that do things for what's right and not what is good for them.
That's big news. "Not Larry Sabato" is the most visited political blog in Virginia. One state delegate remarked that he once looked across the chamber and every legislator had his laptop on NLS. This guy probably has more influence than the real Larry Sabato.
I never really understood why Ben was so hung up on Sen. Clinton, but, if Sen. Obama knocks her out of the race, Ben will be able to focus 100% of his blogging time and effort on boosting the candidacy of former Rep. Leslie Byrne to succeed Rep. Tom Davis (R-VA-11). Ms. Byrne has the good fortune of not only having Ben's strong support, but also her strongest rival for the Dem nomination is Gerry Connolly, Chairman of the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors and someone whom Ben has savaged mercilessly. Stick with Ben's blog. It'll be quite a show.
Have you looked at the blog? The guy is totally nuts. Makes Taylor Marsh look relatively sane.
Do an Al Gore?
Hillary should stay in until Obama has it locked up and if he doesn't lock it up it should go to the convention. Fuck the party, right? Anything so long as HRC has a shot, no matter how mathematically improbable.
I think she should drop out pretty quickly after March 4th if she doesn't take both Texas and Ohio. And, contrary to what a lot of people think -- I suspect she will drop out if she fails to win those two states. But I don't get the logic of dropping out now. While not terribly likely, it's certainly possible for a momentum shift to occur in the next couple of weeks, and she certainly could win Texas and Ohio. And if she does, she's very much in the race. And, God willing, that means no candidate wraps it up in Denver on the first ballot, and Al Gore is the nominee.
Not Larry Sabato is one of the largest blogs in Virginia with among the highest traffic in the state. It's creator, Ben Tribbett, is known for hyperbole and over the top posts in 100 pt font. But he's also known for some of the most incisive precinct by precint analysis of local races throughout Virginia. The man is, simply put, a genius with numbers. He also has lots of sources including some major Republican ones and has broken stories that other state-wide bloggers could only wish for. And yes, he is the one who broke the George Allen Maccacca story that led to Jim Webb winning the senate seat in 2006 and tipping the U.S. Senate into the Democratic column.
The only people who like Ben (NLS) are other pajama wearing, latte drinking wackos who have very high opinions of their own intelligence.

That's a prominent blogger?
Never seen that site before in my life. In any case, I agree with his general position, if not the wailing and teeth-gnashing about Sen. Clinton's amazing leadership that accompanied it. I'm sure we'll do just fine with Sen. Obama as our standard-bearer.
