In Missouri, in a primary, the LOSER can request (and the state will grant) a recount when the margin is less than one percent.

A statewide recount? Why would that matter? Or do you mean for the Republicans? Or do you mean a recount in each district that is close?
Obama EMBARASSED! He can't win women. He can't win white women. He can't win Latinos. He can't win 65 and over voters. He can't win Asains. Worse, Has Kerry, Kennedy, Patrick ...blown outin MA. Boldly predicts yesterday in NJ that he'd win NJ and CA ... azz handed to him in NJ. McCaskill ... at least she can show her face. He should win by 1% there. Napolitano? Obama beat badly in AZ.
D. Andrew, couldn't the same be said about Clinton: She can't win men She can't win young people (say hello to a generation of New Republicans) She can't even win white men (seriously, do you realize how sad that is) Oh yeah and in a state where she had the backing of the entire Democratic Establishment she didn't even break 40% (GA).
Hillary EMBARRASSED! She can't win men. She can't win black men. She can't win youth voters. She can't win voters in the big Red States. (15% in Idaho; nice) She's behind in money 3 to 1. Her husband can no longer campaign for her. Lost the state 12 miles from her own house in NY. Did worse in every state as judged by the Real Clear Politics poll average as of 2/4 - with only two exceptions (NJ and AZ). Still named 'Clinton'
D. Andrew, I'd say today is a win for Obama. Even if it's a tie, that's a win for Obama. And this is coming from a guy who just voted for Ron Paul in the GOP contest.
D. Andrew sounds a lot like robert ethan. Anyone want to bet they're one and the same?
Isn't it more embarrassing to misspell "EMBARRASSED", D. Andrew?
Obama won more states and more delegates tonite against a candidate who was supposed to have this whole thing wrapped up a long time ago. I imagine our corrupt media will spin this as a win for Hillary, but the smart people know that she is on the defensive now.
marc, get thee to the hillary campaign post haste with this suggestion. I'm sure they'll be keen to request a statewide recount for the proportional allocation of delegates in a district-by-district contesst. seriously great idea, man. I mean, really. what on earth would be the point of requesting a recount in a close contest where the popular vote winner DOESN'T MATTER?
ah, just read some of your other commentary from this evening; didn't realize you were a hillary shill. your post makes more sense (or at least is internally consistent) within that context. carry on.
A Missouri recount matters on the Republican side since Missouri is one of the winner-take-all states. For the Republican race to continue, McCain had to lose either California or Missouri. McCain's 7,000 vote victory in that state pretty much ensures his nomination. On the Democratic side after tonight, who will really care whether Obama or Clinton wins MO by a few thousand votes. It won't affect delegate allocation at all. Overall, tonight was a victory for McCain (though not as convincing as he hoped) and to lesser extent Obama. Obama because he got a tie or better in the Super Tuesday delegates (which didn't seem possible a week ago when the campaign was trying to hold Clinton margins to on Super Tuesday to under 150 delegates) and retains his financial and primary schedule advantage. Texas and Ohio seem critical for Clinton.
well, I certainly look stupid. there I go again, thinking my party and worldview is the only one that matters -- like some san francisco liberal. good stuff, ben.
Well I hope that doofus Zogby got a good payout from Obama for fudging the numbers in California. It doesn't seem likely that CNN/Reuters will retain his services beyond their current contract. That was ridiculous and indicative of the borderline criminal lengths the Corrupt Chicago Political Machine is willing to go to, in their blind pursuit of power.
I suppose Zogby in Obama's pocket makes sense, since he is flush with the Arab Mafia that has infiltrated Chicago politics, along with Antoin Rezko, Abdulmuhamid Chaim, Ali Ata and the other compatriots of Barack H. Obama and Adolph H. Axelrod. Along with Milorad Blagejovitch the Chetnik, of course.
Doesn't look like it'll happen: Obama 49.21%
Here are the results of Barack Obama'a first venture into international diplomacy. http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2008/02/05/world/main3790626.shtml What was the headline at the time, when he was calling his old friend and cousin Raila Odinga back in early January........ "Saving The World In His Spare Time"? Pretty sure that was it.
Does it apply if it's not actually a state office, but a nomination? Can we have some parsing of legalese here? Will the state have to pay for private parties to use the apparatus of the state?
final result: all precincts in for Missouri: according to secretary of state's office: Clinton, Hillary DEM 395,235 48.0% ie: no recount...Obama wins!
Well, the vote may not have settled much from a political standpoint, but it did show which group of Americans is the MOST BLATANTLY RACIST. Not to mention MISONGYNISTIC.
Man, robert ethan really spoils the comments section of this site. Dude is sad.
Robert Ethan seems delusional as well as crude in his "humor"? Perhaps he is off his medications?

Thanks Marc... with the counties that are left, it looks like Barry will indeed pull it out... but likely be well within the margin you state above...
it's been a fun night!
