Romney 2012 ... It Begins

Um, this is a joke, right? Surely you can't be serious.

Once Jesus comes back to Missouri in 2011, Romney's run will be much easier.

He's no Ron Paul.

Perhaps if he spent less time talking about constitutional amendments (never going to fly) and war (tired of it), and more on free market economics, he would do better.

Yeah Paul, you are right, because all the "true Christians" will have been "raptured" up to heaven when Jesus comes so Romney won't have to worry about getting their vote.

Got a little choked up watching this...

Especially remembering all that Romney, and his whole family, has sacrificed in serving his country. From his years spent as a POW, to the countless campaigns espousing conservative principles and legislation, no one has given more.

Oh wait. That was some other guy. Never mind.

It's very telling that the only criticism you guesy can muster is about Mitt's Mormonism. It shows where your true intent lies. I would take Romney's and integrity any day over the other guys left standing in this depressing campaign.

I'm hoping that before he runs Romney works out an arrangement with whomever the President is in 2008 to serve as the Energy Czar, the Health Care Czar, the Rustbelt jobs Czar.

Trust him with a problem both parties agree on must be fixed. Give him basic goals parameters both parties and he negotiate. Then turn him loose with their full backing to see if he can formulate a fix.

We know this cannot be done in DC by the Legislature and President.

Probably the highest priority would be:

Healthcare - entitlements, and health insurance. Healthcare entitlements are killing us because we pay 40% to 100% more than any other advanced nation with colossal wastage in overhead other countries avoid. At the same time we fail to allow 1/4th of our citizens better medical and dental care than felons in prison get.

2nd?

Energy. America lacks a coherent energy plan and what we need to do is blocked by special interest groups. We bleed out 150 billion in buying foreign energy and screw ourselves with irrational piecemeal plans and harebrained ideas foisted on us by lobbyists like the Ethanol Lobby, the No Drilling ever off any coast environmentalists (just ignore 30 years of safe ops in the turbulent North Sea).

3rd?

Jobs, jobs, not just rustbelt jobs. And a jobs czar would perhaps be the great intellectual challenge for the right Czar to reconsider old wisdoms about tariffs, taxes, loading up governments with useless new bureaucrats instead of devoting those taxpayer funds to creating good private sector jobs. The future of R&D and manufacturing and science in America - which are now evaporating offshore.

My hope is either Party grabs Romney and sicks him on one problem and finds a few other Romneys out there to work other issues.

And somewhere in there, Romney's friends - who all attest to him being a geniuine, decent human being of high potential - enroll him in the "Yes, I am a likeable human being!!" charm school to help him find his authentic self and sell it to the masses...

Rebecca, it is very telling that you posted twice, and spelled "guys" as "guesy" both times. It shows where your true intellect lies. Also, where are you taking the "Romney's AND integrity" to? Please, take the Romneys, but leave us integrity!

To: and/but/so ( how clever you are - we need less clever and more serious in this country)

Your comments are a clear indication of:
1) Your absolute disdain for the well being and survival of America
2) Lack of comprehension about what it takes to be a leader - they are not perfect but surely know how to get things done and make things better for all of those who do not have a clue - God Bless them. And, by the way, a true leader recognizes that positions are subject to change based on events that affect those positions - when they affect the good of the many as opposed to the good of the few.
3) The fact that Mitt Romney was the ONLY ADULT running in this campaign
4) lack of recognition that Mitt Romney embodied all of those characteristics that America has abandoned - dignity, pride and self respect

Shame on you for your pettiness - you do NOTHING to raise this country up - you seem to take pleasure in tearing it down.

If the race this time accomplished nothing else, it did establish Mitt as the leading conservative voice in America, and the only true conservative in the field. If McCain wants to unite the party, he should offer Mitt V.P. Otherwise, Republicans who believe in freedom, and honor pure integrity, will sit this one out or go third party. Romney in 2012 could save the country after 4 years of degradation and decline at the hands of one of the 4 liberals still running.
