Two Ohio Polls Show Clinton With Lead

25 Feb 2008 09:47 am

The Ohio Poll, conducted by the Institute for Policy Research at the University of Cincinnati, has Clinton leading 47 to 39 (with seven percent for John Edwards.) (The MoE is +/- 4.3%.)

Quinnipiac has Clinton leading by 11 -- 51 to 40.

Given that the Q poll had Clinton up by 21 points ten days ago, it looks like she is losing a point per day. So she might just have enough of a lead to hold on.

Texas, of course, is another story entirely.

She needs to win both TX and OH by 10% to make a dent in the pledged delegates count. If she doesn't, then I doubt ANYONE wants to wait around six weeks to give her another try in PA. March 5th, the question will be - does the Democratic Party want chaos at the convention - or do they want an orderly end to the Clinton Campaign. I think the latter.

I feel sorry for Mrs. Clinton. She is an intelligent woman but based on her behaviour the last days, pressure was obviously too much to bear. It becomes clear that Sen. Obama is definitively what we need. Last polls show that he will beat the republicans while she would lose in a big way. He talks about what WE can do together. SHE talk about HER solutions.

This is great news for Hillary! She's got an unassailable, resounding lead in one of her must-win firewall.

Out of curiosity, Marc, how does this compare to the last Q poll for HRC?

Oh, what's that? She was up by 21 ten days ago?

Oh my.

The reason why Obama is winning because he is not about this GOT-CHA politics, but chooses to debate the issues. Believe me, as all of us know, he could bring up all kind of Dirty things on the Clintons, but this is negative politicking, politics that tears you down and not build you up. Obama is not about this, he wants a more uplifting tone to dominate Washington, so we can get some things done.

OBAMA is a lot of hot air..he talks about NAFTA but I sense he doesn't understand the benefits of NAFTA in that the USA secured acess to Canadian engergy and water. In that they are our most important trading partner and the funny thing is that they are also loosing manufacturing jobs. OBAMA has no understanding that is the South Pacific that is casuing problems and the trade deals with China like Japan and Korea in the pass is the main contributor to job loss not NAFTA..Learn the facts OBAMA and leave our fiends to the North ANd South alone

I feel that I have the right to vote for the candidate that I feel is the best choice for President. I live in WV and I'm tired of seeing Obama over the TV screen. If he was paying for the air time then I wouldn't feel that way. But he gets a lot of free campaigning time. When the news keep saying he winning and if Hillary doesn't come off then she would be tearing up the Democrat Party. I feel she thinks that all of our votes should count. I feel that the Delegates in Michigan and Florida should count, because the voters there should have a say in the matter. They are being punished because they set their election up early and WV is being punish because our Election is in May. Let all voters be counted. One thing you can save about Hillary & Bill Clinton they have always been proud of America. They may not agree with the way the Country is being ran, like Michelle Obama said, this is the first time in her adult life she is proud of her country. I am sorry I don't feel with that opinion she wouldn't make a great First Lady. She may change her mind again.

Obama is great for America and the world. He is the candidate of hope and change. Only those cynics and those afraod of change are still talking rubbish.

We need to move beyond race, religion and pettiness and look to a greater America.

Obama represents tomorrow. All the other candidates represent old news and yesterday.

Thanks for listening

I HAVE TO LAUGH AT OBAMA'S FANS, HE STAND FOR HOPE, CHANGE. WHO EVER GETS IN THE WHITE HOUSE IS GOING TO CHANGE POLICY AND YOU CAN'T EAT HOPE. THIS MAN OBAMA HAS NO EXPERIENCE, REMEMBER THE LAST PRESIDENT THAT HAD NO EXPERIENCE GW BUSH. LOOK WHAT HE DID. AMERICAN VOTERS ARE STUPID. AND HOW ABOUT THE REPUBLICANS VOTING FOR OBAMA. IN THE GENERAL ELECTION THEY WON'T BE VOTING FOR OBAMA. IT SEEMS THEY ARE MORE SCARED OF CLINTON THEN OBAMA.

I am still continually shocked by people who are willing to turn over the leadership of our country to a person we know so little about. I agree that Obama is a wonderful speaker and he has wisely been able to cash in on some attention-grabbing catch phrases and is riding a wave of anti-Hillary sentiment. But so many I speak to can not tell me who Obama really is and what he stands for. (besides the vague "change" slogan...I still have not gotten a clear and acceptable answer on exactly what he plans to change and how.)as a lifelong democrat i am saddened to say that i will have to defect from my party in nov if he (and looks as if he will be) is the nominee. I can not in good conscious vote for someone I feel is not prepared to tackle the tough challenges we, as a country, have ahead of us. i feel as uninspired now as i did when bush was given his first presidency. i guess i will have to wait another 4 years for the opportunity to vote for some i can believe in.

Barack Obama has a great deal of experience both as a State Legislator (eight years) and as a member of the US Senate where he is a member of the Foreign Relations Committee. In that capacity he has made official trips to Eastern Europe, the Middle East and Africa. He traveled to Russia, Ukraine and Azerbaijan. Senator Obama has co-sponsored or sponsored 570 pieces of legislation in the 109th and 110th Congress. (Several with Republican Senators Lugar, Coburn, Bond and McCain.) Fifteen pieces of the aforementioned legislation has become law.

Senator Obama also makes the point in his stump speech that many challenges face us but, together, we can effect workable solutions.

Michelle Obama explained her remarks and stated clearly that she has said time and again that she would not be where she is were it not for America. She meant she was proud of the way Americans are getting involved in the primary process.

7 percent for Edwards, hmm. Looks like a few people in Ohio think a strong progressive approach for taking on the entrenched Washington interests is still a good idea.

It's not about the policies- both Clinton and Obama will be different from Bush/McCain. It's about the integrity of the person.

I'd take Obama (a civil rights lawyer and community organizer who had to make his OWN way in the world) over an entrenched political dynasty any day.

Remember: Obama opposed this war from day one- and his funding comes from the people of the USA not from lobbyists. Obama's the obvious choice to contrast and beat McCain in the general election.

Obama has wisdom, judgment, conscience, and a capacious intelligence. Hillary always looks like she's trying to impress. Obama seems more willing to listen...to be curious...to understand and learn.

On one of the issues that concern me the most--education--Obama has strong, helpful ideas that are not just liberal cliche.

Obama had the best judgment about the Iraq War in 2002: he saw it as a mistake.

I also see him more truly committed to being bipartisan than Hillary: He's willing to take the best from both Liberal and Conservative perspectives, and transcend each side.

I've been voting since 1972 in presidential elections, and my vote for Obama is the vote I cast with more enthusiasm and joy than ever before.

I can't wait for Hillary to win...in comparison to all the candidates -- she is the only one who shows she is strong -- in this day and age that is exactly what we need.

If you look at her, she is the only candidate being attacked by her rivals - both republicans, democrats and the green runner, Mr. Nader.

What makes me see her as a leader and as an action oriented person is her commitment when she speaks of her plans, and the way that she doesn't side-track but is always focused.

In terms of Obama, we see he obviously is not prepared. He doesn't know that Al Qaida is still in Iraq (was not even in the senate when votes were made, and said thereafter that if he was in the senate he didn't know what direction he would have chose), took him 1 1/2 days to publicly denounce the Northern Ilinois University shootings (although that is supposed to be the state that he represents), sends out false adds about NAFTA and healthcare plans of his opponent (which were proved by Factcheck to be inaccurate on the part of Obama's campaign), while debating he is always feeding off the words of Hillary, mainly because the partisan newscasters (CNN, MSNBC) always makes him go last and Hillary first.

With all that said, we need to realize that we do not need a person to give us sermons, we have pastors to do that. We need someone with strength, commitment and dedication. We need a leader who has plans and who can implement them correctly. What we don't need is someone who speaks it but who cannot deliver.

That person who we need is Hillary.

Go Hillary!!!!!

Your supporters got your back!!!!!!
