Client 9 In The Mayflower

Oh, Mann.

An affidavit in the federal investigation into a prostitution ring said that a wiretap recording captured a man identified as Client 9 on a telephone call confirming plans to have a woman travel from New York to Washington, where he had reserved a hotel room. The person briefed on the case identified Mr. Spitzer as Client 9.

More, from the New York Times:

The man described as Client 9 in court papers arranged to meet with a prostitute who was part of the ring, Emperors Club VIP, on the night of Feb. 13. Mr. Spitzer traveled to Washington that evening, according to a person told of his travel arrangements.

The affidavit says that Client 9 met with the woman in hotel room 871 but does not identify the hotel. Mr. Spitzer stayed at the Mayflower Hotel in Washington on Feb. 13, according to a source who was told of his travel arrangements. Room 871 at the Mayflower Hotel that evening was registered under another name.

It is very disappointing to see an up & comer, self-styled reformer and new ethics person like ...Spitzer...be involved in something at odds with his promise. That is why it is so very important to understand as much as we can about the backgrounds of the candidates for whom we vote. No, we cannot verify everything in our research before voting. But, we can pay attention to any warnings about judgment and practice that present themselves. (What does the long-term, politically & financially advantageous relationship between Obama and Rezko say, for example? Perhaps, nothing; perhaps, a lot?) Again, the Spitzer revelation is sad.

This happens just when Hillary needs him so very much. Will he still get to be a Super Delegate, even if he resigns? If yes, then he might still get a crumb from the Clinton leavings.

That he cheated on his wife and banged a hooker is not my concern. That's between his wife and his conscience.
