Delegate Update From CBS News

04 Mar 2008 03:45 pm

Republicans:

McCain 991 (needs 200 to clinch -- he could do that tonight)
Huckabee 210
Romney 149

Democrats:

Obama 1390 (198 Supers + 1192 earned delegates)
Clinton 1267 (232 Supers + 1035 earned delegates)
Edwards 26

Wow. Obama has cut Clinton's SD lead to 34.

And he'll probably keep closing.

McCain's website has better numbers than CBS:

McCain = 1090
Huck = 251
Romney = 247

Its pretty safe to say that McCain is the nominee tonight.

So even a Hillary sweep today (of OH and TX) still won't make a substantial cut into Obama's delegate lead. Rock and a hard place...

...those 50 supers that Brokaw alluded to this morning on MSNBC won't hurt either. Heh.

i'm praying to every god that will listen that tonight Obama wins OH and TX.

but barring some massive surprise he has in waiting(which he might, he's a pretty sharp cookie), i have sinking feeling in my gut that, if she wins OH and TX, she will use this to propel herself forward, and then the REAL chit-calling and nut-cracking of the superdelegates will begin, and she'll scorch her way to the nomination.

god, i hope i'm wrong.

EARLY EXITS FROM AN INSIDE SOURCE:

OH: 51 Clinton, 49 Obama
TX: 54 Obama, 51 Clinton

Hillary looks to be toast

Math is our friend. Also, reality is nice.

EARLY EXITS STRAIGHT FROM MY SUPER SECRET SOURCE

OH: 87 Clinton 84 Obama
TX: 11 Obama, 8.32 Clinton

Stunning!

"TX: 54 Obama, 51 Clinton"

bwah?

Wait, Ken, 105% of Texas is voting.

"EARLY EXITS FROM AN INSIDE SOURCE:

TX: 54 Obama, 51 Clinton"

Don't forget that early exits have tended to skew Obama by a few points. And in Ohio Clinton had a big lead in early voting in just about every poll.

Trying not to jinx anything, bleah.

11 Obama, 8.32 Clinton

LMAO!

Wait, Ken, 105% of Texas is voting.

Maybe some of the illegals voted?

"Wait, Ken, 105% of Texas is voting."

Ha, he got me.

Who needs illegals to get the Texas vote up to 105%? After all, Obama is from Chicago -- obviously they are just voting the graveyards, in the fine old Chicago Democratic tradition. ;-)

Things are bigger down there. What's a number 1 up in Yankee land is actually a 1.05 in the Lone Star State. Don't mess with Texas.
