Obama called McCain at 8:30 central from his hotel room in San Antonio, according to a source.
He congratulated him on the campaign he's run and said he looks forward to the fall.

Obama's acting like the nominee. He's going to be embarassed when he loses in Texas.

Mike you are a moron, he is a class act and you say he is acting like the nominee?? Well the more I read Clinton supporters comments the more I see why they are engaged by a candidate that is dirty and mean, because they are as well.
Even if he loses texs...he has more delegates. And why should he be embarrassed about calling McCain? He's not the kind of candidate to completely ignore an opponent's success.
Mike: Or maybe they know each other from their day jobs? Ever think of that?
Let's count the Hillarys we've seen during this process. I'll start... We've seen the sad, teary, political posturing Hillary (wait...is that two?)
Mike is an idiot.....Hilary is a polarizing nasty women and if Obama had pulled 25% of her stunts ("Obama, do you want an extra pillow")they press would have hounded him to death....Hilary is a LOSER and Howard Fineman on MSNBC just said there is doom in the Hilary campaign. They think she will win Ohio but what does that mean? She CANNOT win the pledged delegate count so she is going down,,,,do the MATH, 1,2,3.....she CANNOT WIN!
We've seen the angry as all hell Hillary. She was piiiissssseeeeed.
We've seen the fake magnanimous Hillary: "I'm so proud to be running with Barack Obama"
I'll resist the incessant name-calling, and just say that Obama congratulating is the smart thing to do. What, should the leader in delegates NOT congratulate McCain on clenching the nomination?
Of course he knows he's running in the fall. He's the messiah, after all . . . oh, sorry about that. I just swooned thinking about the messiah.
The Obama slurpers suddenly discover Hillary is mean. lol.

Good job Barack. I bet John McCain has the guts and decency to come out and publicly denounce the muslim-koran-pledge-of-allegience farce that's been perpetuated against Obama. Tell you what, if McCain makes it clear to all his supporters and the media during a major televised event that the Obama Muslim-Koran-Etc smear campaign is not true and that he KNOWS Obama is a Christian who was sworn in on the Bible and does pledge allegiance to the flag, it would make Hillary speechless, and prove that the Maverick is more for the United States than HRC. Furthermore, if McCain did this in the near future, and Obama still ended up losing the nomination (likely), I would definitely vote for McCain and even volunteer for him. Why? Because he just said he wants to get out of Iraq/Afghanistan asap, and I know he's able to find common ground with both parties. I trust him more than I trust Hillary. I cannot stomach 4 more years of Clinton "vetting".
Lets Hope the Dems destroy themselves between now and during the convention. Neither of them are serious enough to be running for President.
Good for Obama. That's what he should have done. McCain won't have to resort to underhanded dealing to win if he's running against Obama. We'll have a race on the issues, which McCain will probably win. I'm 90% sure of it. He will also win against Clinton if he runs against her, but there will be a lot of silliness involved. I'm also 90% sure of that.
Even if he called him, he does it because it is expected to and he still plans on doing battle, so it is just talk. Besides, Hillary called him too and no one made a big deal of that. "We Need Hill On Capital Hill!"
