Jaime Bayly's show, transmitted via MegaTV around the Globe, focused last night on Rev. Wright. When has an American election ever before so captivated a global audience?

The 2004 Presidential General Election was very widely anticipated internationally. But I think Obama's actual immediate African heritage and the Clintons' global jet-setting of recent years gives this primary election unique cache.
No comparison between Barack and McCain. Barack himself said this is his "mentor". He baptised his children and wed the two. Barack has him on his religious committee. McCain doesn't have that kind of relationship with Parsley God Damn Rev Wright and Barack Obama and anyone else who goes to that church!
You don't stay in a church for 20 years and raise your children in a church where HATE is spewed if you're for peace. Did Jewish voters pick up on Mr. Wright's anti-Israel remarks??? Barak Obama needs to be SCRUTINIZED big time for listening to his "mentor and hero" and campaign helper. There's a little too much "awww it's no big deal" attitude going on. God have mercy on us all and remove the blinders.
Why do I feel that this is much ado about nothing. This is the problem when you inject religion into the public sphere. There is a reason why we need a separation of church and state. Like JFK, I believe that religion is personal.
this is so much better than Keith Olbermann - this Peruvian newscaster actually acts offended at the right moments! I don't even speak Spanish-this is fantastic TV! Can this guy please teach CNN about reporting? - amazing range of video clips, a thoughtful comparison between Wright and MLK, still my hero. Wonderful television. By the way, KEITH OLBERMANN IS THE WORST PERSON IN THE WORLD!!! Yipeeeeeee.
hey Micheline - yes, perhaps religion is personal, but you know, things like hatred, and someone who sits in a congregation for 20 years absorbing this stuff, who calls Wright his "spiritual advisor," who brings his children to this congregation - that should probably be known. well, perhaps Americans don't want to know. But I bet the Israeli's would love to know especially when they're dealing with a President whose "spiritual advisor" gave an award to Louis Farrakhan. yes, great foreign policy, Micheline, you have fantastic instincts just like Obama on foreign policy - let's just let this one drop in the middle east much later on.
Marc, don't know if you listened to the whole thing, but the right-wing Mr. Bayley also drastically misinterprets what's being said -- as if everything (inflammatory or not) that comes out of Wright's mouth is by definition racist. Twists alot of facts. But I realize that wasn't your point.
What the media should ask is, if Obama was there when those anti American, anti 9/11, anti Clinton's remarks where made. It seems such a vital question and its amazing how the media simply gives him so much leaverage. its ridiculous

If you go to the doctor he tells you that you have cancer. Would you become angry or would sit down and ask how did I get cancer.

The media has been having a frenzy over Wright.
Where is the media on John McCain's other evangelical ally...Rev. Rod Parsley??
Mr Parsley’s endorsement was a boon to Mr McCain’s efforts to knock out his last remaining challenger and win over social conservatives. Standing side-by-side with the minister, Mr McCain hailed him as a “spiritual guide."
The leader of a 12,000-member megachurch, Mr Parsley has written several books detailing his fundamentalist views, including the 2005 Silent No More. In this contentious work, Mr Parsley castigates homosexuals, abortionists, the entertainment industry and civil libertarians before turning his attention to the perceived threat to the United States from Muslims.
