I tend to have looser lips when there's a microphone in front of me, so Ross Douthat may have elicited from me more reportage than I'm willing to print about the Democratic and Republican vice presidential slates.

The name Hillary Clinton didn't come up once in that conversation. I take it you aren't too bullish on her chances.
Hey, how about a regular RSS feed for those of us who dislike using iTunes as a podcatcher?
The worst possible thing for Obama to do is to pick a running mate with foreign policy credentials. The only thing it would do is highlight his own lack of experience in the area. His VP choice will almost certainly fit the "red state with executive experience" mold. Webb, Biden, Hagel are all out for this reason. Daschle and Dodd both appear boring and old and would be a net negative for Obama's image. Mark Warner is too valuable as a Senatorial candidate to put on the ticket but Tim Kaine might be a safe choice. The pressure to pick a female is also much higher now, which bodes well for Sibelius and Napolitano. As Mark notes, Napolitano's stock is currently the higher of the two. If she ends up with it the Democrats will have a very strong ticket in November. By a non-trival amount however, the strongest choice is Brian Schweitzer of Montana. He fits Obama's change motif, has strong executive and green credentials. Pro-second amendment, and oh by the way speaks fluent Arabic. He currently enjoys an approval rating of over 70%.
I bet you tend to have "looser lips" when any cylindrical object is placed in front of your face Amblinders. A microphone, a hotdog, a popsicle, a cucumber...... Aren't you getting a bit ahead of yourselves, annointing the TURD THAT FLOATED OUT OF THE SOUTH SIDE SEWER? Or is that another cylindrical object that makes your mouth water?

Why - if we're talking about Chuck Hagel as a potential veep - are we NOT talking about Lincoln Chaffee who actually measures as more popular and is more politically aligned?
