ANNAPOLIS -- I'll be blogging from the McCain roadshow until Saturday. That's why I find myself sequestered, by choice, on a tour bus that's idling outside the Navy-Marine Corps stadium here.
Our press call was at 5:30 a.m., and McCain's traveling press corps arrived here at 6:45 a.m. The event begins at 9:15 -- a full two hours and thirty minutes from now, on a landing overlooking the field. About 40 chairs empty chairs are waiting for the guests. It's cold and windy, and so McCain's advance staff is trying to prepare for eventualities: what if, for example, his teleprompter tips over in the middle of the speech? We have two more hours to ponder the question.
Here's another: I wonder how many carbon credits we'd have to buy in order to account for the CO2 emissions coming from the press bus, which, because of our early arrival and the cold temperatures, will be idling for quite a while.

Speaking of carbon credits, did you know Obama is offsetting the CO2 emissions from his bus tour with Carbonfund.org?
