The Atlantic's Boldest

A midweek corrections column.

1. I regularly misspelled the country of Colombia.

2. I regularly misspelled the Dutch-American general, Petraeus.

3. I confused Sen. Susan Collins, a member of the Armed Services Committee, with Sen. Olympia Snowe.

Comments (4)

Colombia is a country in America named after Cristóbal Colón.
Why would anybody mispell it is beyond my comprehension.
Columbia with a U is the lady with the torch that introduces the Three Stooges.

Marc is henceforth sentenced to powder his nose with white powder until he learns to spell Columbia properly.

He is required to go dutch on all outings until he spells Petraeus properly.

As for confusing Senators, well, them white people all look alike... he is forgiven.

How ironic is it that the commenter above also misspelled Colombia?

Intentional, TH... GRIN!

Think of what kind of white powder we are talking about.
