Joe Andrew, a former chairman of the Democratic National Committee and a superdelegate who has endorsed Hillary Clinton, plans to switch allegiances today. He'll make the news at a 10:00 am ET press conference. "I am convinced that the primary process has devolved to the point that it's now bad for the Democratic Party," he told the AP. Andrew's defection may represent a tipping point. The pace of superdelegate endorsements has picked up dramatically since Pennsylvania, with Obama receiving twice as many as Clinton. Andrew is a quasi-party elder; his example may grant permission to other superdelegates who have similar thoughts but less solid constitutions. NB: Obama also picks up three unpledged add-ons today.
