Half percent of Clinton supporters said that Rev. Wright's existence was important to their vote. Clinton received more than 60% of the white vote in Indiana and less than ten percent of the black vote. (In North Carolina, blacks comprised a third of the electorate -- more numbers when polls close.)
Clinton won in Indiana among "blue collar white voters" but only barely among voters making under $50,000. The college degree split is intact but not all that large: Clinton bests Obama by ten points among those without a college degree; Obama bests Clinton by ten points among those with a college degree. Gun owners (51% of the Indiana electorate) chose Clinton by large margins.
Late deciders were less a quarter of the vote in Indiana AND North Carolina. In Indiana, 62% backed Clinton.
Obama and Clinton are seen as equally able to beat John McCain's; Democrats might therefore see Clinton's recent polling data points as ephemeral; still, 55% thought Clinton was the most qualified to be president. And Obama is seen by Indiana voters are more honest and trustworthy (66%) than Clinton (54%).
