Some Notes On McCain's Field Operation

09 Jun 2008 10:23 am

A McCain campaign strategy briefing posted online for donors and supporters contains a few clues about the scope of the campaign's expanding field operation:

The McCain campaign has offices open in 23 states now, most of them co-located with state Republican parties. But by the end of the month, it will have dedicated offices in Las Vegas, NV, Phoenix, Des Moines, IA, Royal Oak, MI, Columbus, OH, St. Paul, MN, New Brunswick, NJ, Manchester, NH, and Tallahassee, FL.

Davis said the campaign has 250 employees on staff, more than double what it had a month and a half ago, but less than 30% of the size of the Obama campaign.

The campaign expects to open 500 offices within the next four months.
