Putting the swing in swing state, one wonders whether Gov. Jim Gibbons's nasty divorce will further demoralize Republicans in the state and boost Barack Obama's chances of winning. At the very least, it'll be hard for John McCain will appear in public with an alleged adulterer.

What was Bob Taft's approval rating in 2004? How much difference did it make for Team Bush when it came to winning Ohio?
I live in Nevada, and I know you're being a responsible blogger, but you can safely remove the word alleged from your post. Anyway, Dawn is holding a gun to his head, and he must have cut a deal with her. The divorce is on hold.
I am not sure it will take Gibbons shenanigans to turn Nevada blue, but I think it will happen. I'm in Northern Nevada and alot of people who identify themselves as Republicans are telling me they are going to vote for Obama, some are not very committed to him or his policies, but almost without exception they say "he can't possibly be worse than Bush".
McCain is an admitted adulterer, I can't see this being a problem for him.
Another howler from Marc.
This is one of those elections where I don't have a clue to who will win the race. JJ
With posts like this, the comments won't last long. Pointing out idiocy is not civil. I can only guess they were reinstated perhaps due to dropping page views.
My guess is the comments were reinstated to ease Marc's inbox.
I don't know what to think about Nevada. It was supposed to turn blue in 04 as Yucca Mountain was supposedly a HUGE controversy that would make it impossible for Bush to prevail...
Wait a second - you're saying adultery is a negative in Nevada? I thought it was the state's second leading industry. Learn something every day.
John McCain appears everyday with an adulterer....himself.
I think John McCain would benefit from campaigning with Jim Gibbons. Why? Jim Gibbons isn't leaving his wife after she was crippled in a car accident and gained weight like John McCain did. He isn't leaving a wife to marry a richer and better politically connected one so that he can marry his way into elective office: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-1024927/The-wife-John-McCain-callously-left-behind.html So, in fact, John McCain could benefit from the comparison to Gibbons who is a man of honor in comparison. The American corporate media is burying John McCain's sordid past while they play guilt by association with Obama: http://www.dailykos.com/story/2008/6/8/11942/95369/892/506609

McCain is an admitted adulterer who abandoned his first wife for a younger, wealthier woman - he should be perfectly comfortable sharing a stage with Jim Gibbons. And if we're dumb enough to elect McCain, we'd better hope a richer, more attractive country doesn't catch his eye.
