This has become a common understanding of Obama's history--Romney uses it whenever he can--but I think it's just fundamentally inaccurate. Obama has much more executive managerial experience than people appreciate. He was the president of the law review. He led the 92 GOTV drive that Lizza makes much of in his new piece. He ran his state senate campaigns and his state senate office, before running his 04 Senate campaign as well as his Senate office. There's a rich diversity of experience there at the top of the helm that is worth exploring and that at the very least neatly rebuts this common charge.
