Palin Draws Obama-Like Numbers

Nielsen estimates that more than 37 million people watched Gov. Sarah Palin's speech last night including 19.5 million women. In comparison, Obama's speech drew a shade more than 38 million. And Obama's speech was broadcast on ten networks (including BET, Univision and Telemundo) while Palin's was broadcast on the Big Six.  Other Nielsen highlights:

 

    • Ratings for viewers 55+ (25.2) continue to be about ten times higher than for teens (2.2)
    • Day 3 for the GOP attracted more Hispanic viewers (1.4 million) than Day 3 of the Democratic Convention (1.2 million), even though Univision and Telemundo did not carry
