Ron Paul's Secret Event

09 Sep 2008 05:12 pm

Ron Paul's holding a press conference at the National Press Club tomorrow.

He'll reveal a big secret, he says.

A third party run? Endorsing Barr-Baldwin? Endorsing McCain-Palin? I don't know.

Any guesses?

A hint? He did qualify for the ballot in Montana....

Rumor has it either an endorsement of Barr or an announcement of a debate with third-party candidates.

I mean really, if he were going to endorse McCain (who by all indication he loathes), wouldn't he have done it to get a convention speaking slot like they were begging him to?

An independent run! I hope.

He's endorsing a lump of gold for the presidency.

He's on the ballot in MT at the Constitution Party candidate....

It's a third-party run. He's announcing his running mate...a copy of the U.S. Constitution! And he intends to read it very soon, I hear.

"He's endorsing a lump of gold for the presidency."

This made me laugh out loud.

He will announce the debate for 3rd party candidates.

He will not endorse Mccain.

Announcing a 3rd party run, with an actual moose as Veep nominee? (Fox documentary forthcoming).

He's endorsing Obama

By the way check out this insane remark by Meghan McCain, daughter of Sen. John McCain, on the Today Show.

"No one knows what war is like other than my family. Period."

Why are all McCains so out of touch with the reality? They won 12 houses, Cindy wears $300,000 outfits at the convention, he wears $500 italian shoes. And now Meghan shoves it hard into 4300 families whose loved ones died in Iraq due to war mongering of her dad McCain. Ron Paul must be really angry after hearing this sh*t from Mccain family.

I wonder if Ron Paul will announce the discovery of a huge gold deposit beneath Sedona and demand that John McCain "Tear down that house, Mr President"?

Ron Paul to star in remake of Brokeback Mountain, perhaps?

No, definitely time for Ron Paul to announce that he and Ron Jeremy are forming an all-inclusive Masculinist Party Ticket for 2008.

Time for *wheeze wheeze hiss* "Barack, I am your father". I am sure Ron Paul secretly wears black stormtropper armor at home *s*.

He and his army of internet libertarians are going to declare independence from the US and move into a remote Texas compound recently vacated by the Fundamentalist Church of Latter Day Saints.

Let's see if Meghan clarifies that remark, "perot." It's a ludicrous statement if taken 100% literally, but very easily explained or qualified (IE: by replacing "other" with "more"). Of course, if you hate McCain, you'd probably rather take it literally and ascribe it some deep meaning, too.

"The two parties and their candidates have no real disagreements on foreign policy, monetary policy, privacy issues, or the welfare state," Paul is expected to say at a news conference in Washington, according to an advance copy of his remarks obtained by the Houston Chronicle.

http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/front/5992258.html

In his speech, Paul is planning to say that voters can send a message to the major parties by voting for the non-establishment candidates: Libertarian Party nominee Bob Barr, Green Party contender Cynthia McKinney, independent Ralph Nader or Constitution Party standard-bearer Chuck Baldwin.

Barr announced Tuesday afternoon that he will attend Paul's news conference at the National Press Club in Washington. All four minor-party candidates are expected to appear with Paul.

That he's taking over Andrew Sullivan's blog?

He's the twelfth cylon! Though the Sullivan idea is good too.

As for Meghan, how come she gives interviews and Palin doesn't? They're more confident in Meghan?

The National Press Club shall astound you.

McCain's whole campaign is premised on the idea that no one understands war more than he does. There are several problems with this; first, McCain's war experience involved dropping bombs on innocent civilians. Might it be that they understood the costs of war more than Senator McCain?

Moreover, understanding war from the soldier's perspective does not equate to understanding war in the broader perspective. McCain's unwavering bellicosity in the face of any state that doesn't kowtow to US pressures is reflective of this fact.

Whatever Meghan meant by it, it fits right into the overarching meme of McCain's campaign: I've been through war so I understand it, you haven't so you can't understand it. Now let's go shoot some shit.

why does it not surprise me that you, of all people, can state definitively that Obama wasn't trying to score political points by calling Palin a Pig on the sly?

I respect you, and your reporting, but you know the way both sides say what they want people to hear in every venue.

"Country First" here is the same as "Pig" there, you heard the applause, Marc.

I know you folks are in the tank, I accept that, and have for the last 15 years of my life, but don't sacrifice your integrity for that, Flat-out conservatives come to your site for straight reporting all the time.

We really do respect you. If I may speak for conservatives, for a moment.

That you don't see what he was saying is a complete disregard to what the crowd heard.

McCain used the "pig w/lipstick" comment several times last year (sometimes in reference to Hillary's policies). Why? Because it's relatively common phrase in the south. Obama made it in reference to McCain (Palin wasn't even mentioned in the sentence) and now the McCain camp is being as hypocritical as ever by trying to politicize it and capitalize from it! Shameful!!

I think this will be a great opportunity for CHUCK BALDWIN, Constitution party presidential candidate, for more exposure in the media. He is scheduled for the LOU DOBBS SHOW today, 10 Sept. 08' as well. Chuck will be accompanied by Monica Ramos, (Border Patrol Agent's Wife)at the Press Conference and the Lou Dobbs Show. GREAT!
Chuck is the ONLY candidate running for president that WILL DO SOMETHING IMMEDIATELY about the borders, illegal immigration and releasing the agents from prison! Go Chuck go!
