A Note On Independent Expenditure Advertising

Republicans are confident that when you combine the spending of the RNC's independent expenditure arm and the McCain campaign, they're able to keep pace with the Obama campaign's blistering ad pace.

But comparing IE spending and campaign spending is like comparing fermions and bosons. IE committee don't get the preferred rate; campaigns do. So the Obama campaign, by consolidating spending, gets more bang for its buck.

This is a small point...but one worth pointing out as we try to keep with ad spending.
